If that pusey loan deal goes thru with no option to buy it will infuriate me more than any other deal in recent memory.
It will confirm the boards ambition and that rodgers days are numbered.
Its nothing against the boy, he may be the next van dijk but progressing another clubs youngsters over our own is unforgivable.
There is surely no way this would be a signing approved by rodgers. It just makes zero sense.

Im sure Notts County felt the same about Calmac and Aberdeen about Christie.

DerryTim,
get ready to be infuriated.
It gets better, the Spanish midfielder at Liverpool, has only managed 26 games in the past two seasons ?

Said that in another thread he's hardly played on 3 years.

How Aberdeen or notts county feel about developing players for other clubs doesn't interest me . we are champions of Scotland aspiring to participate in the elite European competition. unless it's a loan to buy id rather buy first team ready players and develop youngsters of our own.

Cannot believe what's happening here. Either they are sticking pins in a Panini sticker book or they are trying their best to sicken the manager out the door? Why not just pay close to asking price for a decent player (s) and recoup either in prize money if we qualify, or the Jan window if we fail to get through as could happen at this rate. So far this 'window' has done little but encourage others.

The way everyone over reacts regarding a loan is incredible.
Are we the only team in Europe that loans players?
Is every single loan deal that is done anywhere got a buy option in it?
I'm pretty sure most of them don't.
What difference does it make if the boy is only here on loan as long as he helps us win the title and help us in Europe.
Even if it did have a buy option, if he did really well then we would be lucky to have him for a further year. Yes, yes we would sell for profit but that would just give everyone something else to greet about, and a heafty portion of the profit would be going to Man C as a sell on.
{Ed007's Note - For what it's worth Jon I think this loan is pointless and is just kicking a can down the road for a year without a clear reason why, it's just a bit weird to me. I think the only time we should be loaning players without an option to buy is if it someone we normally couldn't get in, a Robbie Keane or Craig Bellamy level player. Even if we are looking at loaning someone to cover Jota's absence we should still look for an option to buy just in case the player comes in and runs amok.}

I get your point ED, and if he is coming as backup and spend most of his time on the bench then I agree.
I just think that this boy is going to play most of our games, I've heard chatter (I know. I know) that CCV could be off.
Or maybe with CCV's injury record, BR doesn't want to risk going into our CL qualifiers with Scales and Trusty as our 2 CB's.
Maybe if we don't get the winger targets that BR wants, we could see a switch to a 3 at the back.
I just don't see what everyone's problem is with this one loan, over the last number of years we have done very well with our loans especially from Man C and they all didn't have a buy option.
One other thing and my last point ED is maybe we don't want to spend another £6-£8m on a defender and want to make a splash to bring in a top notch forward player.
{Ed007's Note - I've said all season that I expected CCV to leave this summer and with a month to go in the window I still think he might, surely we aren't replacing CCV with a City loanee though? Is there stuff going on behind the scenes we don't have a sniff off but let's be honest, this City player should/would be 4th/5th/6th choice right now.
Go and buy Veljko Milosavljevic....

I agree ED.

My issues with this signing is young Dane Murray and Donovan did really well in preseason how will this loan make them feel. I wouldn't be surprised if this loan goes through Murray might ask to go out on loan or a permanent move away.
01 Aug 2025 13:13:29
I doubt that Murray will go out on loan I think he will break through season maybe that's the reason for the loanee from Man City? We are now looking at Viktor Kim Ludwig Eriksonn boy looks a unit bit like his name. ?.

I think that BR is really impressed by Dane Murray he has seen enough to identify him as a Celtic first team centre back for many years in the future, but because he has had a horrendous injury hit couple of years B R wants to play safe and take him away from the heavy toil of this incoming season at playing first team football for Celtic . Instead he wants Pusey to take the work load this year with the hope Dane is fitter and stronger next season.
