I still get edgy watching us play out from the back. I understand that this is part and parcel of the modern game. One slip up and the opposition are in on goal. You get the feeling we're tempting fate at times.

I felt sinasalo wasn't as confident playing out but elected to put it out of play rather as risk it. Happy with that really given it's his first competitive game for ages. The tippy tappy stuff around the corner to 18 yard apex is stress inducing though.

Playing out from the back is what the manager has instilled in the team. What I hate is the fannying about at the back, with surplus passes and touches in our own box. Especially with a new goalkeeper and in a game where whenever we got forward quicker we scored.

I agree, we put ourselves on the back foot at times as we make far too many tippy tappy passes putting each other under pressure. On many occasions there is a longer ball out but we choose to make short opases putting players into corners.
When we move it out quickly, like we didin the first goal, we punish teams.
Most teams are now trying to high block in the first 10 to 15 minutes as they feel they will catch us out and then look to fall back and defend for the remainder of the game.
BR said before the game he wanted us to start quickly and put them under pressure from the off and the players did the exact opposite, that is how sevco were 2 up in the last game.
Our players need to be up to speed from the first whistle they cannot rely in our quality to eventually break down teams imo.

We had a shaky 10 minutes spell at the start of the game then dominated. Second half was like a training exercise.

It's not part and parcel of the modern game the way Brendan does it, go back and look at the way Ange did it and notice the difference, Brendan is a dinosaur in his way of playing out from the back, his way is so easy to play against, but he is not capable or willing to change his ways.

For a dinosaur BR has been very successful with us when we see the amount of trophies he has won . I too would prefer for us to move the ball like we did for the opening goal every time we got it deep in defence . It isn’t going to happen as opponents will very seldom allow it . I would prefer if when defender when he receives ball from goalie was able to pass to another Celtic player and not back to keeper.
Most teams go short from ‘’keeper and many are caught and concede simple goals, but they nearly all persist.

Brendan Rodgers has been a successful manager at Celtic, but this tippy happy football around the penalty box doesn't help my blood pressure, we can beat all the teams in Scotland, but recently against sevco they seemed to have worked out how to play against us, and unfortunately they won the last Derby game recently, Does anyone think Brendan Rodgers will have a plan B, the next time Celtic play sevco, or will be the tippy tippy around the penalty box still be the way Celtic will approach the game.

Since the LC final it appears the currants have worked out a press to nullify our playing out from the back. This was again evident in the Ipox game and the more recent CP game.
Sadly, it would seem BR does not have the nous, or will not change our style, even when it is obviously not working against a certain team.
The really surprising thing is how much Sevco struggle against mediocre Scottish teams, where they dominate possession. In Europa league they tend to play how they play against us and hit teams on the counter, or press them into mistakes, with great success. Fortunately, they will get their come-uppance against Bilbao.
C'mon Brendan, sort this out!

Maybe B R has the same opinion as Jock Stein, maybe Brendan doesn’t care how often Sevco beat us especially in games that are more or less meaningless as long as Celtic continue to win league and Cups.
