I don't like loans that is true. If it's a loan to buy I can understand. A loan for a central Defender I can understand with us having 4 out for the near future it would make sense to me for a short time loan Especially with CL close. But a loan for a position that we have players fit and with no option to buy I can't understand.

Tony maybe some midfields will leave before window shuts. Just like been said before do we think we are the only club acting late in the window to sign players. We have to be prepared for bids and potential exits.
Also 100million release clause and other crazy numbers is something else that has been discussed before on the site.

There is no area of the team that isn’t a priority to improve . We are just at best only an injury or two away from a major problem at midfield. If we think we can sign a young midfielder that will improve us in that position, then we should go for it, especially with option to buy.

In Portugal at the minute, asked a few lads at the bar about him who are Benfica fans. They said he is not the fastest, but can do box to box, really good passer,
Good shot from distance and powerful player who is tall. Finds space and knows when to play. They said he is a very good player but the coach just doesn’t play him, possibly as he’s young. Similar to jota situation where he’s really good in their u21 set up but not getting a chance .
Apart from the pace he sounds good .

Ronnie Edwards is only 5ft11 so not tall enough for a centre half in my opinion, Nat Phillips is 6ft3 and physically more imposing .

Can't see us going for the Peterborough lad tbh. We don't have the money for him either. We do, but any move for a CB won't be permanent imo our money would be better utilised on other positions. Saying that I don't get why we don't go for Mbuyamba, I know he's not experienced but he'd cost the same as what we'd be paying for a loan fee and he will be in the squad if ever CCV does decide to move on at the end of the season and he'd be bedded into the squad and ready for next season.

He could play CB until CCV is fit and then we can move him into the midfield.
It’s reported he’s on £85K a week wages.
Maybe a deal can be done with Celtic paying £35K a week wages and a loan fee.

It’s weird, when I’ve watched him play for spurs I’m not sure about him, but strangely I agree with buzz that he could do a job for us. He won’t be playing against anywhere near the same quality in Scotland as he does in England, he’s used to playing both central defence and defensive midfield, he’s a big lad as well. He could come here, do well and get his confidence back. I’m sure ccv and hart will be bigging us up to him due to playing beside him.
Another one I wouldn’t mind would be maguire on loan as he’s well out of the picture at Utd .

Keezo1, Lyanco will be a far better player than Scheidt , he has played in Serie A for years with Torino and Bologna as well as 30 games for Southampton in the Premiership last season , he reads the game well and times his tackles very well, if he’s up to match fitness I’d play him next week no bother .
