Why does it feel like we are STUCK currently

No obvious targets
No momentum
Certain players low in confidence
Minus Griffiths, virtually no one that can deliver a set piece
Marquee players being actively marketed out of the club
The high energy high press boycotted with a more passive approach evident
Board and management misaligned

A manager and a player and the board making a complete mess of a situation with all stakeholders looking silly

Question marks over funds and quantum of funds available

A very big squad with majority of players ( taking good wages ) contributing very little

Emerging youth talent not coming through at the rate previously envisaged

ALL of this despite unprecedented mountains of cash coming in from season ticket sales, merchandise, sponsorship and pending tv deals

Our PR department have been abysmal. They aren't even countering the real bad news or even the fake news

We all said, on the back of the double treble, that COMPLACENCY would be the A1 danger and BAD PLANNING.

After the invincible season I think we've gone backwards, further compounded by Rangers' investment and new found belief

Ed, I love Celtic. I don't need Celtic to win all of the time BUT it feels like we are HUNG-OVER from top to bottom.

Leadership seems to have been lacking and togetherness.

Ed, is there a problem or do you think that it is a case of EXAGGERATED problems

Are we an attractive proposition currently? Is it a happy, hungry and motivated place to ply your trade?

Wins always help of course BUT the performances on and off the park has certainly left a lot to be desire

I can't believe that we allegedly knocked back £9m for a player wanting away, then called into question their commitment and motives, only to then want to keep them, only to then bid for a domestic defender, with a willingness to do business at £5m for the want away defender, only to then get a knock back for aforementioned domestic defender. that's BAD 👎.

We have a squad of players who, for the most part, have achieved a double treble.
On top of that, we have had 2 years CL
Right now, we are seeing a few challengers making changes to their staff and the media are obviously having a great time with the positivity over the other side of the city.
We still have a squad which should dominate the home market.
We have just been dumped out of the CL and into the EL.
We have had a player who has now created discontent among players and supporters.
Hearts just dumped us (giving that cretin CL crowing points)
We have not strengthened our squad in the areas WE all recognise as weak.
There is no FEEL-GOOD factor for us right now and we are all hoping that "something" will happen before the window closes but most of us (if we are honest) don't really expect anything positive.
However, a few good results (starting tonight) will put us back on the upward slope of that roller coaster called Celtic. H. H.

The signs were there last season that we were becoming predictable and our vulnerability in Europe has been there for all to see.
To his credit the manager has always said we need to keep improving and working hard to get better every season, but most of the players that have been signed in the last three 'windows' have certainly not reflected this and indeed we have lost more quality than we have added. Hayes, Compper, Hendry, Eboue, Benyu and Gamboa are nowhere near trusted enough to deliver the demanding Celtic standards, as are the inherited Biton, Christie and Allen.

The revolution we saw after the SC semi-final penalty defeat to Sevco in 2016 was well overdue, but is fast losing momentum, whereas on the other hand the 4-0 and 5-0 drubbings we handed out to them in quick succession last season has seen a very big reaction - obviously not anything like the scale or quality - but a boost nonetheless that has reignited the media pressure and negativity that lay dormant when we were flying out of sight.

The negativity around the club has been mostly self inflicted and that is a 'curse' we seem to never shake off; repeatedly failing to strengthen from a position of power and superiority and as usual the Celtic Board are the arch-villains with a severe lack of professionalism, prioritizing and positive planning.
So here we are ending August, with a 50% success rate in the SPL, out of the CL, unable/ unwilling to pay for the quality we crave and with a defense that defies the definition of the word.
We still have the best players around, but the confidence, fitness and focus is being hampered by distractions and disappointment.

Lethargy is the word you are looking for, its time for the out of date Lawwell to step down.

A confident fit well organised Tierney, ajer, brown, ntcham, McGregor, Edouard, dembele, Griffiths, sinclair and forest is a decent basis

Augment with a RB ( or gamboa backed) and a CB ( in the mould of mjallby or balde ) would do just fine

A couple of sensible signings and we'll be right as rain ASSUMING Brendan is up for the fight.

Our squad should be good enough to dominate domestically but we should learn some lessons from last season.
I think thoese two thumping wins against Sevco at the end of the season clouded a lot of peoples judgement on the strength of our squad. We enjoyed those wins so much that decision makers at the club failed to look at the teams that started beating us and the amount of points we dropped at home. On top of that we started to struggle to open teams up and a lot of matches became a grind.
I don't see how failing to qualify for the Champions league should affect the squad as we never spent last seasons CL money on buying players. Even though we spent a bit on Edouard, that seemed to be offset by selling Armstrong and the sell on clause for Van Djik. Most of these players were here before Rodgers started qualifying us for the CL so they shouldn't be a drain on our finances.
The club should back the manager as best they can. He doesn't seem the type of person who would make ridiculous demands and his results these past 2 seasons surely means he's earned that.

Deid great shout and quite simple but talk to Pedro.

Gerryc he has earned the right to expect us to strengthen. He has turned players on the slide into good players. His overall transfer record is however average at best, however we don't know how much input he has. It was always said that Ronnie never picked the players. Maybe its still the same. From his earlier comments I am not too sure he makes the final decision.

Evening Ed

I have been wanting to join and post having long observed the opinion and views of others and so here goes

The key to a successful season will rest with the current first X1. They haven't become dreadful overnight, and now more than ever over the past few years they need our support to rebuild their confidence. A couple of signings won't, in itself, make the difference in terms of success. Existing players getting organised, hungry, confident, committed, fit and motivated WILL make a massive difference all told.

The fans have a part to play in this too. Being bullish and confident is easy when we're sweeping everything in front of us aside, but mettle I tested when the chips aren't falling for us as we'd like.

I do wonder whether Tierney being actively marketed out of the club helped? The summer window so far has been about our big ticket players potentially leaving, and the public relations around that hasn't been the best. The McGinn saga has left a bit of a sour taste too.

However, if we can regroup, thrash Thistle and Accies and get back in to a groove ( Rosenborg second half) then perhaps an old firm triumph and EL qualification will steady us a little?

One last point. BR has been saying the right things but I do see a bit of tiredness and blankness in his delivery in terms of messaging. If he's vague and unsure and dissatisfied ( however justified) he needs to regroup too and LEAD his charges, especially now

Thanks Ed.
