I don't know what to believe with all these rumours going around that Rodgers is knocking back most players that are being offered to him or it's the board constantly low balling or it's Desmond who is holding up all the deals as he won't sign them off but one thing is clear that our recruitment process is broken.
I do get Rodgers wants to show ambition and get a higher standard of player in but after his signings last Summer do they trust him?
I genuinely can't see Rodgers being at parkhead next season so would it have been better for everyone involved if Rodgers had left this Summer. I really don't know the answer to that but it's imperative that we bring a DOF in to make sure we never end up in this position again with what seems to be a power struggle internally.
On a side note I don't think our board do themselves any favours with the constant silence it wouldn't do them any harm to come out and engage with us from time to time and try rebuild what is a strained relationship with us the fans.

There will undoubtedly be some mischief-makers in the media and online who seek to create division between supporters and the board. This may be because they support Sevco or have a personal grievance with the board.
That said, supporters absolutely have the right to ask questions about our transfer dealings and the individuals involved, and the board should not be beyond criticism.

So if he's knocking back players why did he sanction the 3 players that didn't even make the bench on Sunday, this is nonsense he wants quality and the board are penny pinching, sevco spent 4m on a winger the other day while we were haggling for the other boy over 2m and apparently the boy looks class time is running out.

Mally correct I said before, their Board is backing their manager and doing it quickly.
Compare that to our Board who seem to put low balls offers all the time.
Here is a question us fans have the passion and only want the best for our club, do you think DD, Nicholson etc have that passion, DD seems to have lost interest in Celtic and Nicholson well you could put a cardboard cut out in his office and nobody would know the difference.

Don't know Tim if they have passion but their job is to reward the fans by putting the best team possible on the pitch and they are failing miserably, if the plan is to wait for cl qualification then its a huge gamble and we've seen this movie many times from cluj to fenerbahce to malmo what a silly tactic, do they think the fans are daft you don't need to be a mathematician to know the numbers, and what happened to pl mantra that every penny of profit would get pumped back into the team Aye right.

Imo, its just a shambles, I am trying to remember what the last rumour that was even mentioned on Sky Sports, regardless if they are legit or not. This transfer window has so many similarities to the window before BR left for Leicester. My gut feeling is there is something is going on, the players that have been brought in are clearly nowhere near the 1st team in BR opinion although chasing a goal and we needed a spark I thought Yamada could have provided it last weekend. I really hope I am wrong and I wish transparency was a thing in football especially with us fans, a very loyal fanbase. This just reeks of rumblings in the background of some sort.

1967 Timalloy, a blind man can see that the common denominator is Peter Lawwell, when Lawwell was lying low after his part in the Lenny saga in 2021 Nicolson got Ange his players quickly in both seasons but since Lawwell reappeared Ange has left and Brendan has had to put up with Lawwell Jnr bringing in dross then back to last minute . com with his transfers which saw us paying over the odds for Idah and Engels, listen Brendan, his player and the Celtic fans have done their bit in the continued success, this shambles is 100% on Lawwell and the board, Nicolson will cop the flack but this has Lawwell’s fingerprints all over it .

I’m stewing at this argument every year, yeah Celtic aren’t most transparent when it comes to transfer plans but who wants to tell the world we want him him and him oh and we have 100 mill in bank, we’ve that much doh and rightly been praised for it that some teams will want to rip the piss, last summer we let arguably our best player (at time as he went missing for months during season) in Matt orikey, we’ then paid our dues for engles and idah, the players we all wanted, then we moaned about how much they cost, yeah kyogo went in Jan but jota coming in was another great move, then we bring back kt (if plays and fit is class) that’s a coup, Nygren was a good move allowing Kuhn to go and we’ve shifted a lot of dead weight (prob do more ) so let’s just see what comes in, we have a team capable at present of beating anyone we play, Brendan’s job is to do that and he should no excuses, we can reflect after window, and if not happy il be first on the blame the board wagon.

Beating anyone? Lost two games against Rangers when they were dross. They gave improved and we gave got weaker. Thinking we can beat anyone we play is sevco level delusion.
We just beat St Mirren with a deflection after our front line was utterly woeful from start to finish.
We need players because we have regressed. Its clear to see. Yang and Idah are supporting acts. No more and it shows.

Before window ends we play cl qual against 2 teams if we can’t beat shouldn’t be there, Aberdeen livi Falkirk and sevco, so yeah our current squad should beat them all and if don’t it’s on Brendan not signings not coming in that’some are wanting to blame, as said once we reflect after window then if there’s not an improved team then il be first to say so, but there will be just like last year.

Reflection is for some university fuckwit with no common sense. In the modern world of professional football, standing still is effectively going backwards if you’re the only one doing it. This board have not improved our club in the last 20 years, they have improved the business. We have beaten all around us but, last year apart, when tested we have come up short when we should be aiming higher. No one expects us to bankrupt the club chasing moonbeams but when we make good profits it rarely gets reinvested in the team in a way to make us progress. Hence the reason we are 15 odd years behind where we could have been. No splurge of cash required, just incremental improvements season by season. Every time we sell for profit we go looking for the next cheap deal to rinse and repeat which is treading water and never realising our potential.
