Khun allegedly off to leipzig.
23 Jun 2025 13:34:49
If it's true, thanks and cheerio. When he was on his game, he was unplayable and made a brilliant contribution for the first half of last season, but lost a lot of momentum and impact after the CL exit. .

Will be a massive lost and if it's only 15 million then we are getting out pants pulled down.
One of out top performers in the Champions league, our second most dangerous player last season.
Taking 36 goals out the team while we are already short in the wide areas.
23 Jun 2025 15:10:55
I’m not being funny Kev but £15m is a great fee for a player that’s had half a good season for us!
23 Jun 2025 15:46:52
I just don't get all this luv-in for khun. A dozen or so good games in 18months, albeit a few really good ones, but people still talk of Edourde and the French boys being huffy. Kuhns nose has been out of joint since Jota walked through the door and maeda overtook him in importance. Take the 15m and run.
{Ed007's Note - £15m for a player that's had 6 good months in the 18 months he's been here is a great deal imo. I don't think Jota's arrival made any difference to him though I agree his head went down after we exited the CL.
To be fair to Kuhn, in those good 6 months he was different class, if he had kept that form up he would have been POTY across the board and we'd be talking about £20 -25 milllion.}
23 Jun 2025 16:47:15
No chance that 15 million is good enough for him. Not one player was better than him at CL level this season. There is also a lot of recent bias when it comes to maeda over him imo. Maeda wasn't setting the Heather oan fire first half of season mind. Kuhn was one of the main reasons we had stretched our lead in league, had won the League cup and had a good CL campaign. We are already short out wide and we'd be happy taking out out second best and second most dangerous player out the squad for that money. Mental imo.
23 Jun 2025 17:04:25
It’s difficult to know how much Kuhn is worth if we don’t know why his form suddenly dropped in mid - season .
I for one appreciated his brilliance for the short time we had it . Without doubt it was at the same time as we played superbly domestically and in CL .
Hopefully we sign someone who can reach his heights and maintain it for most of season.
We got £20m + for a few players recently and they haven’t done as well with their new clubs, clubs may take greater care when buying from us as they may think our managers and coaches are able to have our players perform very well by team playing well for each other.
23 Jun 2025 17:05:52
Nygren will b an ideal replacement f9r less than £2m.
23 Jun 2025 17:09:14
Latterly he just looked unhappy. Great player but we move on to our next hero.
23 Jun 2025 17:57:55
If we get 15 million for kuhn. At least we know we are spending 10 and banking 5. It's the Celtic way.
23 Jun 2025 19:13:17
How do you know he'll be an idea replaced? Especially people saying he's better as an number 10? Also we needed 2 wingers before selling Kuhn, so we will need 3 now.
23 Jun 2025 21:14:56
I would have expected more for him as he delivered against some quality opposition in the champions league.
{Ed007's Note - So did Idah and some fans say he's a flop & waste of money. We got £10 million for a player some said was the best player since Larsson, £15m and add ons is a fair price imo for a player that has delivered for 6 months out of 18.}
24 Jun 2025 06:12:30
Read a Celtic podcaster says Celtic are looking for 20 million. Seen its a rumour page, I thought I would post it.
Agree 15 million seems low. Unlike Idha Kuhn can control a football, hold a football up and pass a football. Idha is a terrible football player.
24 Jun 2025 10:54:08
Everybody has an opinion but do you not think 20goals is a decent return for Idah in his 1st full season with the amount of games he played. Idah is a confidence player and in My opinion he's done well so far.
24 Jun 2025 11:59:30
This time last season fans on here were giving the board a hard time for NOT signing Idah! Stating they should pay the money and stop penny pinching. Now some of the same fans saying he is rubbish and given a poor return.
He started behind Kyogo at start of the season then Maeda was given the role through the middle so I would say 20 goals including 3 in the champions league is a good return.
If he can start more games and we play more to his strengths then I reckon he will have no problem being our top scorer this season unless we buy some superstar. Patience is what is required.
{Ed007's Note - The more Idah plays & scores the more his confidence will go up - sometimes it's as if he has the weight of the world on his shoulders - and with a full proper preseason under Rodgers will sort him out to get out the traps flying next season. I said it a lot towards the end of last season, next summer Idah will have scored 50 goals for Celtic, on what planet is that not good enough?
Keep in mind, there's fans out there that no matter what Idah does - and Engels is in the same boat - they will never give the player any credit because it means they'll need to admit they were wrong. #DoubleDoonCSC

Kuhn managed 21 goals and 15 assists last season. Three of the goals and one of the assists came in the Champions League, some of which were against top tier opposition. That is a brilliant return for a winger. In addition, one of his standout attributes is his speed, which is something clubs from top leagues usually value highly.
When you perform on the big stage, interest naturally increases, as does the player's market value. I would be surprised if we sold him for just £15 million, unless there is a clause in his contract or we previously agreed to let him go for that amount.
24 Jun 2025 12:54:30
If he does go, I hope we would get a better up front fee with a smaller sell on. Strikes me as a moody, lazy little fecker. Maybe that’s why it took him to this long to make any kind of mark. If he does elsewhere what he’s done here, he be sold on at a loss!
24 Jun 2025 13:01:26
WeeJoe do you think the club are undervaluing the player then or do you think the footballing department appreciate that £15m is good money for a player who doesn’t seem to have consistency in his game.
If Kuhn was consistent and retained his level of performance for the season then yes £20m+ is warranted. But he didn’t and dropped off massively. We could really cash in here and sign a replacement who can return those same numbers.
24 Jun 2025 13:46:50
I think if we spent £10 of the £15 we get from Kuhn I think the Board would have the. % spend immediately on new players just about perfect . When a. Board are fully supporting the manager as it appears our Board is supporting BR, they can’t be sure of the final amount they will spend until the window closes .
Which budget would the Board regard as most important, to keep football wages under budget, or lump sum payments.
24 Jun 2025 15:49:21
Like the fans won't give a player credit because they will have to admit they were wrong. Love that patter, yip I pay thousands every season going to every game but want players to fail. School boy nonsense.
Idha scored 20 goals and when he doesn't think about it he can stick the ball away. He can't control a football, his hold up play for a big laddie is horrendous and his link up play is virtually non existent. Still have nightmares of his pass to Forrest v the Zombies.
{Ed007's Note - That wasn't directed specifically at you but it obviously struck a nerve! It's not like there's a history of it is there? Greg Taylor & Liam Scales are a couple of recent examples of it and the same thing will happen with Idah/Engels, some supporters have made up their mind and nothing will change it.}
24 Jun 2025 17:24:35
£15M plus a decent sell on percentage is good business for Kuhn (IMHO) particularly if Nygren (or another) can come in and deliver.
Idah and Engels both need a break from some fans. Both have delivered in the past season and will continue to improve.
☘️ ☘️ ☘️.
24 Jun 2025 17:57:08
We are linked to a lot of wingers at the moment so that tells me the club are looking for replacements.
I imagine Balikwasha will come in to replace Kuhn.
24 Jun 2025 17:59:30
We bought him for 3m, can you mind that Austrian Journalist on superscoreboard saying he's a dud, and if we sell him for 15m+ that's a fair bit of business, and he's provided plenty contribution, on to the next who wants to be here to improve and be sold on for money.
24 Jun 2025 17:59:32
Maybe this is why young Miller sees his best option abroad. A top class upcoming talent and celtic fan with the chance to improve no ends under a great coach would rather head abroad than listen to constant abuse unless he's 10/ 10 each week.
24 Jun 2025 18:59:40
The Idah and Engels chat is the same point I made a while ago regarding Murray. Still no idea why BR brought him on against Villa at that time. Some people will never forgive that. Personally I’d like to see the young man get a wee look in this season.
24 Jun 2025 19:46:19
@KenLikeEh – I’m not sure the club are necessarily undervaluing him, as we're mostly relying on media reports. That said, I agree that £15 million would be a solid return on our initial investment. Personally, I think he’s worth more than that, for the reasons I outlined earlier. Of course, I also accept there may be things happening behind the scenes that we’re not privy to, and ultimately, he’ll only be worth what another club is willing to pay.
As for his replacement, I actually believe Nygren has been brought in to fill that role, which I see as a positive sign. It suggests the board may have learned their lesson from the Kyogo sale.

Love big Engles. Lot of fans judging him on price, which is unfair. Has everything to go far in the game. Speed, strength, can pick a pass, excellent dead ball and scores. Time and patience with him. Really hoping for big season this campaign.
