Well there we go straight from the horses mouth, McGinn was desperate to go to Celtic but we fannied about as usual trying to low ball. He even said the club phoned his granda to try get John to push it through. Villa came in and paid the asking price and the rest is history.

Of course he is leaving out that the agreement was made for a fee and Lennon informing Steve Bruce that McGinn was available. Bruce has talked about meeting Lennon playing golf about how he signed McGinn. Mcginn also said in the same podcast that he was wowed by them opening the villa stadium for him one night. It's all out there to check.
If any of us were offered the chance to sign for Celtic, even half as "desperate" as McGinn claimed to be, we all would have waited till the clubs sorted it out and we would all be Celtic players.
Same rubbish every year about McGinn, but it's summed up really easy. HE CHOSE VILLA over Celtic! Fans run around like some ragin burd that a fella picked her mate over her.
Honestly couldn't give two fiddlers about McGinn.

Agreed see when they start this pish I mean you chose villa over Celtic good luck ye done well but my dream would have been to be in your position and I know I would have chosen to wear the hoops mcginn would have been captain material it's his loss I'm sure villa was a great time good dough but it's still not your dream could have went south later in career.

Funny how he is coming out with this crap now although he mentioned previously and there is still a video of the interview where he states that everything was agreed with Celtic but he chose Villa because Bruce guaranteed that he would play every game and Rodgers told him that he would have to wait due to us having a strong midfield.
He is changing his story to please them down south.
