McCowan has had his extension, Ralston will be next alongside a couple of others who aren’t even good enough back ups never mind starters.

and that stinks for me!
I know the rules around squad lists etc and homegrown quota but these guys weren’t good enough years ago why do the powers that be think they are now, surely there is better quality homegrown options out there to snap up that we could utilise?

It's the cheap option. Celtic always go for the cheap option.

There's been no "lessons learned", it's the same mistakes being repeated over and over again and as fans we're expected to sit on our seats and keep our mouths shut. We have virtually no say in what direction our club is going and can't hold anyone to account.

I'd be hugely surprised if we bring in more than 2 permanent transfers now. It'll be bargain basement loans with a scatter gun approach.

But it'll all be fine because we're a bawhair better than sevco. For now anyway.

Ive said it numerous times. We have zero ambition as a football club.

Need 8 homegrown players in uefa, we’d need to replace these guys with Scottish players or youngsters just to make numbers up in 25 man squad, so 17 foreigners, which in theory means entire first 11 and subs (used) can be non Scot’, I could be wrong.

Jaa11,

Your numbers are as close as.

The Celtic website currently lists 26 first team squad players but that is only with x2 GK's, when clearly we should have 3.

If we based the full squad on 26 players;- 8 homegrown and 18 non homegrown (foreign) players which equates to almost a third of the squad being homegrown.

IMO, we need to start looking very carefully at signing Scottish/ homegrown players from other teams who can actually play their way into the first team, as oppossed to being a 3rd choice RB on a contract worth £500K+ per year just because your Scottish.

With a first 11 that currently contains CalMac and KT, Donovan plays only because AJ is injured and with an ageing Forrest on the bench, that leaves 4 Scottish/ homegrown players in the squad who are effectively empty jerseys as they have little or no chance of getting a game.

This should be Forrests last season at Celtic, CalMac is 33 yrs of age and KT can't play 90mins, but again, this issue should have been addressed long before now.

The homegrown contingent of players in the Celtic squad should be contributing far more than just making up the numbers.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

HH.
