That’s now 30 years since Lawrence Haggart was brutally murdered.
He was a 15 year old Celtic youth player at the time.
Only 6 Years earlier his Father had a Testimonial with Alloa and he had Celtic as his opponents.

ED007 if my memory serves me correctly was the young lad not involved with the Thai Tims or am I confusing him with another boy who was also murdered.

After I posted it I thought 30 years was too long ago as the Thai Tims were in Scotland less than 10 years ago
But what is frightening is that the two young lad were murdered simply for being Celtic fans, by all accounts the two boys would have made a big difference in this sad world in helping other people RIP.
{Ed007's Note - That's a very popular misconception with people not from the area, Tim. Reamonn and his friend were being robbed (mugged) by two scumbag waster b@stards, it had nothing to do with football although Reamonn and his friend had been in the pub watching a Celtic game.
There was no footballing connection to Lawrence Haggart's death either.}

ED007 me and my memory but I am sure there was another young lad murdered for wearing a Celtic top and my memory (such as it is) seems to remember one of his friends a young girl was one of the co founders of "NIL BY MOUTH".

I remember that murder, as it happened around the same time as Dunblane. Young Lawrence's family were badly let down by the Police, who tried to blame his young brother and then his older brother for assisting.
Awful case. What they put that family through for years was appalling.

I was at school with Lawrence, st mungo's in falkirk, truly tragic, will never forget last time I saw him was on the Friday we had double English in the last two periods.
Lawrence (Haggy) had so much talent it was unbelievable, I still say to this that I believe he would of become a Celtic captain. He also had scotland youth caps.
His funeral was in denny and our whole year from school attended, along side the whole Celtic team, I pretty sure tommy burns was at his beside when he passed.
RIP Haggy you'll never be forgotten.

Thanks Ed for cutting out some of what I wrote.
I realised after I pushed the reply button that I put in a bit too much detail around the Police side of things, which was done in anger over what I recalled had happened and what was done to that poor family.
