Weejoe did you see the article today in 67 Hail Hail about amount of cash Board may have in bank
At end of 2024/ 25 we had £77m
Their finance guys on this site estimate it will be lower maybe around £70m and again tax to come off that also
They think DD is worried about seasons with no CL and that is why Board reluctant to spend this money
DD wants to finance any buys by income generated by sales, merchandising etc
So even in summer our new manager might not get much to spend on his players unless players like Engels bring in the big bucks.
{Ed007's Note - I was going to post a reply to this Timbo but I can't be @rsed so I deleted it.}

I did see the article timalloy but I doubt we have that much in the bank now. We need to remember that a football clubs finances are front loaded and they tend to get a large percentage of our income at the summer when transfers happen, season ticket money comes in and you get European prize money.
Some of that money will have been used to pay our bills from June until now. My guess is we would have about 30-50 million left but it is hard to be precise without seeing the actual accounts.

Seriously this is up there with John mcginn conspiracy theories. Lads most of that money was taxed last year. You can't be taxed on same dough twice. As you pointed out correctly we paid a criminal amount of tax on most of these earnings last year 12m.
There are earnings after tax to be added to that for this year. June accounts will show that.
St Jude pray for us!

I already said that the tax is only paid on net profits, so don't suggest I'm saying we will pay tax on the money in the bank from last season. I also suspect we still operated a profit this season, despite my predicted downturn in revenue. Do you agree?
