The search for our new manager is one that leaves me very uneasy.

If, and it's a big if, the three main candidates that have been highlighted to date are accurate;- McKenna/ Knutsen/ Nancy, then we could be about to take a gamble on BR 's successor.

I get that every manager and player are gambles to some extent.

McKenna is under contract and would potentially cost several million pounds, even if his club let him go as they aim to gain promotion to the 'promised land' of the Premiership.

Knutsen could apparently still be at Bodo until late January, from what I've read, to complete the schedule of games, big games, that lie ahead for his club.

Nancy, he could well be the most 'available' of the current three, given his teams position and potential perceived value.

This is where the dilemma kicks in, if the above scenario was remotely accurate, I fear our board would jump at the chance to sign Nancy, more due to cost and availability as oppossed to being the best candidate.

His assistant was also alongside Tisdale at Exeter City apparently, that could be a positive.

Time will tell but, if any choice was to be made, we may be better keeping MON and Maloney until which time it we could guarantee our first choice candidate, the best manager for the job, as opposed to signing the most available candidate for the job quickly. and possibly cheaply.

Time will tell.

I think W. Nancy's season is finished after his club lost to their main rivals at the weekend.
I reckon the Celtic Board will take the easy and cheap option and appoint the Frenchman this week.

The fact that Tisdale knows the guy through his ex assistant, doesn't fill me with any real comfort.

What has Tisdale, the football Doctor done since coming in. He has been non existent, unvisible in his time here.

Nancy would be the cheap option and similar to Ange and BR he has a system and does not change it. He is also known for turning down players he thinks cannot play his system.

Managers today need to be flexible and have a plan B or C depending on how a game is going.

In Europe we have proven you need to change things to be successful.

He's 2/ 1 on with some bookies BuzzBomb, with Knutsen at 15/ 2.

His ods gave apparently tumbled in the past 48hrs. ?

With tricky away games against St Mirren, Feyenoord and Hibs next I'd rather keep continuity until those games are done rather than risk dropping points trying to do wholesale changes.

If (and when) Celtic appoint the unfancied cheaper option, it will be yet another indication of the arrogance, complacency and incompetence of a Board that are so out of touch it's frightening.
The Rodgers departure was an ideal opportunity to learn from mistakes and poor judgement and use some of the vast wealth to employ the best candidate for a job that - at the moment - is huge.

Their aloof contempt could lead to a nightmare scenario.

I'd always prefer to wait and make the best appointment as opposed to taking a punt on the quickest appointment.

But hey, that's only my opinion. ?
