While we as Celtic fans have our own views on the summer transfer window, I really object to the twats in the Scottish media already calling it a 'disaster' just because we didn't spend big. The same twats questioned the signings of Larson, Lubo, Kyogo, O'Reilly, Kuhn, Maeda, Taylor, Mooy, Rogic, Dembele, I could go on, just because they weren't extravagant purchases. The rest tho was history. They will never learn, and I am pretty confident 3 or 4 of our new batch will again prove their predictions (and some of our own I must say) of a disaster to be wide of the mark.

I read last week that only 8 of our last 20 signings are still currently at the club.
It’s not a great stat if true but at least Celtic are managing to move the unwanted players on quickly.
( must include quite a few loan deals )

It was a disaster.

It was a disaster. Spending big is the least of it. Scraping around at the last minute and not replacing quality was the issue.

The conduct and management of those responsible for recruitment may well be described as a disaster, but to describe our signings as a disaster is imo premature…. but time will tell.

No one is describing the signings as a disaster. We are saying the winter and summer transfer windows were a disaster.
January we got rid of our best striker and did not replace him. Which in my opinion cost us the treble and entry to the last 16 of the CL.
In the summer we needed a LCB to upgrade what we had, another LB to challenge KT. We ended up needing a 2nd choice striker along with a 1st choice. We needed a LW to cover for Jota and a RW to replace Kuhn. We didn't get any of that before the most important games of our season and this contributed to our exit from the CL and the riches it brings.
Yes we eventually got a LB and LW before the window closed but did not get any strikers, RW or LCB before window closed. We eventually got a striker when the window closed and it remains to be seen if he is an upgrade on kyogo or Idah. However, we did not get a LCB or RW, which means we are weak in both those positions, especially RW were we now only have Yang and an aging and injury prone James Forrest to do us until January. Same up front we have iheanacho, Kenny (who was supposed to go on loan but they did not get a replacement) and yamada who looks like me when he tries to control the ball. So if iheanacho is crap we are in major trouble.
If you are happy with that fair enough but many of us are raging because we had plenty of cash and plenty of time to plan and get our ducks lined up. So in our opinion it was a disaster and the board are to blame.

in terms of the transfer window my only issue is if they were going to sell idah and media wanted out it should have been done early doors and the money should have been spent for a top replacement upfront. they have went about it the wrong way in that sense.
as for the two new wingers wee needed they should have been done early but look promising signings with flair and directness to go at defences let's wait and see how they do.
centre of the park wee have 6 strong good midfielders Nygren was added to the 5 we already have he adds the flair and spark to the centre mid think we can all agree hese a gd signing and a bargain
a like kt and the boy from boca looks promising think we've strengthen left back we cleared out few centre backs and brought the young lad in from city who is suppose to be a player won player of the year 2 year in a row so we've added depth to centre backs im happy with the right backs and keepers.
if the two wingers were brought in earlier and upfront sorted sooner with money spent on a quality striker instead of the amuterish way they went about it last minute don't think there would have been much of a uproar as we have just now.

I doubt the boy from city will play unless we have injuries and was brought in to cover Murray. We did not strengthen LCB which after striker was the main position we should have strengthened.
