Think that puts to bed the yamada to start as our main striking option, thought he was poor.

Yamada, like several others in the team could be utilised far more effectively than he is.
We've got some decent players, clearly we're no Real Madrid, but my point is;- BR is happy to play CalMac and Hatate, week in - week out and leave others out.
That 'go to' combo alone, have contributed fuc£ all in a must win CL qualifier (2 games) and the first derby of the season. WTF?
Perhaps when BR walks, and he will if he sniffs an opportunity, a new manager will come in and punt Hatate and drop our captain.

Maeda was brilliant defensively today and done more than enough for Celtic.
Maeda got zero service from his team mates today but he constantly won headers from Sevco corners and he also made an amazing challenge very late in the match to make sure Celtic never got beat.
Definitely pass marks.
{Ed007's Note - Second half I though Maeda looked a lot more liek his old self, Buzz. I've always said we get the best out of him out wide, I think playing him centrally you take away from his pain in the bum pressing because playing ST he can't go chasing so much, if there's a sudden break then suddenly he's out of position as the ST.}

For me having shin and maeda doubled the throw of the dice as both chased hard. Increasing the press ob djibi who was a bomb scare for them. Shin hold up play was good too and he went looking for the ball.

I agree we improved when Yamada came on but I don't think it was because of him as he is not a football player. Yes he is athletic and can run about but is crap at football.
