Malley, personally I think rodgers is looking for a better calibre of player with a better profile, which in turn comes with a higher fee, certainly a higher wage and i think that's the problem here. I cannot believe the club went out there way to bring rodgers back, make him the highest paid manager in Scottish football history to date just to continue domestic dominance.
I certainly don't think rodgers has solely came back for that. I've obviously no proof, but it's just my opinion, and for what it's worth in my opinion i think the club gave rodgers certainly promises to entice him back as rodgers stated from day 1 he wanted to make a stamp in these European nights. we were far better last year in Europe than we've been in many abyear, and I think rodgers wants to kick on from that, and he probably feels to do so he needs that better calibre of player which brings into play the higher fees and wages, which we all know the thought of breaking our wage structure to do so won't sit well with the money men at the club.
As I say this is just one man's opinion, I could be completely wrong, but no one can tell me some of these players we've so called been linked with at around the £5 million or so mark are outwith our reach? HH.

Doubt anybody in until qualified (or not ) if targets are still available . I'd rather then they didn't sign anybody than rushing in a few just for the sake of numbers.

Celtic have always spent more than Sevco over a season.
We have also made more of a transfer profit with the exception of the 2022/ 23 season, when they sold Bassey and Celtic actually spent more than we brought in for a change.
The only time Sevco have been in a position of strength was in 2021 when they won the behind closed doors title but they only spent £3 Million that season.
That amount also included the decent loan fee they paid for Ramsey.
Currently in this transfer window according to Transfermarkt,
Celtic have made a transfer profit of 18 Million Euros and Sevco have spent 18 Million Euros more than they’ve brought in.
The 2 transfer windows in the 2021/ 22 season showed how easy it is to turn things around if you’re found sleeping at the wheel.

I like the look of Nygren and think he could be exciting to watch once he's up to speed. Him and Engels could form a partnership if BR could find a way of playing the two of them.

The big marker will be when (if) we beat them first match. From what I've seen they have a few half decent players. But Russell Martin is taking Bealism to another level. He literally talks in a circle. I would hate to be a rangers supporter this season. Because it's going to get embarrassing.

However BR is a wonderful coach and developer of men, he has a fault in evaluating a player’s ability. He doesn’t want others picking his players therefore we have a problem getting the players we need.

I agree with many of the points already made.
Irrespective if we get through against Almaty, and the result against them at the end of August, should we not sign another player (s) that go straight into the starting 11 (not squad players, first team players) then we've infact, gone backwards.
In old money, the job facing BR (in the case of a few players) would be akin to 'making a silk purse out of a sows ear'.
