As it stands we are weaker in several key areas than we were last year. We have lost Kyogo and Khun (both 1st picks) and neither replaced as yet. Several fringe players have also departed and added to that players like CCV, Forrest, CalMac and possibly Kasper are not as fit and effective as they were. We finished the season poorly and other than KT we don't know what the new signings will bring. Plenty time left of window but it's nkt just one of two player

I would say we need 2 CBS, 1 lb, 1cm, 2 wingers and a striker.

We need quite a bit more as I feel we are indeed weaker all over the park than this time last year…
Jasper is beginning to look vulnerable ( after a great 3/ 4 of a season)
Defence needs support in every position. As we have no real back up.
We need a bit of physicality in midfield
We need a CF who can start and at last one winger.
It maybe we are taking our time on signings and that can’t be a bad thing, given the signings last year haven’t been great or consistent. All 4 top signings faded/ disappeared as season wore on.

Is this Kuhn player the player many of our supporters felt had thrown in the towel and had stopped try in December last season .
We only had Kuhn playing in the six months before January 2025 . Kyogo according to many was never given a chance to play under BR as he had the team set -up to not suit Kyogo playing style
I thought that we had signed a right winger Nygren as Kuhn replacement.
I would expect our centre backs to be improved from last season, with more experience of playing together and with his operation CCV should miss less games . Surely when K T is fit he is a very big improvement on G Taylor . Our central midfield is def stronger with Engels and Bernardo more experienced and a year older and better . Mc Cowan will have benefited from his first year. With boyhood dream . Maeda only hit his best form last 6 mths and should carry his confidence and form onwards this season . Hatate is very eager to have successful season to help his World Cup ambitions . We have a couple of recently signed players who can’t be accessed yet as we haven’t seen enough .
Also very strong rumours of a Japanese striker and a left winger both rumoured to be joining .
Forget about the doom and gloom, we are not in that terrriblr position and could well have a very good transfer window.

I agree to an extent on your points wee Dessie, but bottom line is if for no other reason signings always need made to firstly freshen things up, and secondly add competition to the squad and keep the current crop on their toes. Rodgers himself has stated reinforcements are needed, and I for one cannot disagree with his assessment of things HH.

Weejoe You may be right about needing them, but if we signed them all in the next month and played them every game they were fit, we would drop more points and lose more games than if we brought in a few players .
Our strengths over the years have been consistency of selection meaning we were getting the very best out of our players through the thorough understanding of their fellow players strengths and weaknesses
You say for example we need a centre midfielder, of course a top five league team probably would have better than, Cal McG, Engels, Bernardo, Hatate, Mc Cowan. Realistically that’s not an area of major concern . I expect both Engels and Bernardo to improve as they are very young, . it’s likely bringing in a better midfielder than this would stunt their improvement and against everything BR would claim to be doing.

Dessie - my concern is for midfield creation, hopefully Hatate stays injury free as he is our best at threading a through ball, I feel Bernardo and Engels lack vision to penetrate opposition that play with low block. I would love to see the purchase of Lennon Miller as I believe he has the attributes to create an abundance of chances for our club, not dismissing Bernardo or Engels as they have different aspects which enhance our squad.

Buzzbomb, maybe some of your fears over lack of creativity in our midfield was eased by B Nygren, far too early for us to be sure but he certainly open many people’s eyes in his carrying ball forward and linking up well.
I would be very surprised if Celtic ever had an interest in Lennon Miller as he was available for a long time and Celtic don’t seem to have made an offer for him.
