Brendan saying jota out till next year, that's a blow and leaves us really short In the wide area's, we have maeda nygren if he plays there forrest who's not averse to injury and yang who ain't anywhere near good enough, I know there's plenty time but it's now mid July we have an important cl qualifier in 4 weeks that if successful gets us untold riches that alone should have the board proactive, we must have taken in over 20m this window with nothing really going out, fo they think we're all daft and don't notice these things, the season ticket money is also fresh in the bank come on celtic back the man and get yer finger out.

Right wing we have nygren, Forrest, tillio and Yang.
On left wing we have maeda and an injured Jota.
Based on this, it is a necessity that we sign a left winger.
If we can get an upgrade on Yang and/ or he is leaving, then I think we will sign another right winger. I am sure Forrest will play a role this season but due to his injury record and age, we cannot rely on him being fit for the whole season.

I think we'll get Balikwisha in this week Mally. He looks quite exciting from what I've seen. Whereabouts did Nygren play in the friendly, do you or anybody else know?

Based on that Weejoe, we need a right winger too. Forrest not good enough, Tillio and Yang probably away.

I expect Brendan and recruitment team to be fully aware about the problems on left hand side. He has spoken often of the needs to bring in quality up front. Of course just because BR asks for specific player (s) to be signed, and Board does it’s best doesn’t mean we will get the quality we want .
I don’t think we should rate any transfer window on outgoings compared against money taken in by sales, rather on the over all quality of squad at transfer close and at a date later compared to quality at opening of window .
I have to say J Forrest has shown himself in recent years very good when coming on for closing 30 mins, his fellow team players know it, as was evident when injured shortly after coming on in cup final . With Jota, long term injury Hatata brutally injured in SPL match by Cup finalist Aberdeen and then Forrest injury added to Maeda ‘s exhausting trips to Japan to be at wife ‘s bed side for birth of child . Non surprisingly us very short of front players . Every team has at some time or other has to cope with player’s shortages, it’s how a team copes shows strength and abily of manager .

There has been a pattern to JF's last few seasons with usually a good start and as he showed last season a very influential end with injury somewhere in between, but even though he is arguably our best winger, he is at the end of a very illustrious Celtic career - that even brought him his very own song after over a decade without one ?
If Yang goes and Tillio can't break through we will see additions.

Just because BR asks for specific player (s) to be signed, and Board does it’s best doesn’t mean we will get the quality we want…
Does their best? Whit?
Here’s the facts. The club has the thick end of £80m in their coffers. It’s now a year since the club knew Kyogo wanted away and 6-months since he left. Rodgers made it clear he wanted him replaced in January window and he still hasn’t been. With Kenny and Osmand both potentially 3rd place strikers behind behind Idah and Maeda able to play through the middle I’m concerned the Japanese with next tae nae goals this season is the boards idea of a first choice striker.
As it stands we’re Khun, Kyogo and Jota worse off than last season. We’re relying on Jamest Forrest who at 34 is the best winger at the club for all the wingers we’ve bought. We’re couldn’t knit a centre half from the centre halfs we’ve got but we’ve bought a £250,000 Japanese project. The board should be bringing players that are bettter than what we have in every position to make Idah and CCV et al squad players not buying more squad players.
Before I’m reminded that it’s early days we a champions league qualifier weeks away the biggest game we’ll play this season. I don’t trust them and I’m concerned. They’ve got previous and to date the good football doctor hasn’t shown us jack $hit. A well run business we are a well run football club we ain’t.

An injury to CCV leaves Trusty and Scales. An injury to KT leaves nobody. So a LB and 2 Centre Halfs required. Along with 2 wingers a striker and a dominant midfielder. Will Nicholson and Co have them in place for our most important game of the season-CL qualifier?

Wingers;-
* Tillio is so far out of the picture, there's bhoys on here who'd get the nod before he does.
* Forrest - at best a bit part player - simply unable to influence, let alone win a game coming off the bench.
* Yang - either needs to go out on loan or sold. Lacks experience and nowhere near a starter.
IMO, we've currently only got Nygren and Maeda available to rely on as things stand, and then Jota when he returns.
We could do with signing another first choice winger to give us better options.

Wee Dessie kills me.

JFP 1888, I am sorry if I have killed you it was never my intention to kill you as I never thought your posts were relevant for me to take such action . We all need to remember myself and yourself that the solution to facts are opinions. Neither of us can be right unless by fluke as we don’t have all the facts
Despite your doubtless very low opinion of our Board and they in your opinion hoarding money, many fans that may just have an IQ similar to yourself may see different solution and the Board under the guidance of BR may have their eyes on specific players . You rant about Board knowing Kyogo wanted away a year ago, that may be true or it maybe a rumour . Even if he had asked Board, the fact that his agent was telling everyone he was wanted by Man City gave the Board a laugh as well as plenty of time to replace as there is as much chance of me or you getting Football Director at Man City . No wonder that club was surprised when he demanded a move to lowly Rennes
I prefer to laugh than kill anyone but I see a club than at best have finished 2nd in the SPL in 13 of the last 14 campaigns . Season after season the Sevconian have signed ten or more players and they have won practically nothing .
Buying players that only take up room on the training pitch doesn’t buy you success . It isn’t only buying players with the necessary football ability but also players that will fit into team and team spirit .
Celtic have certainly not got it right every time but it is clear that they are trying to do more diligence and try buy the correct players . They are certainly making a better fist of it than the high spending, of other people’s money H. ns
It never ceases to amuse me ( it doesn’t kill me how people fans and bloggers ) who carry no responsibility and can be wrong 9 times out of 10 claim to know more than the collective Board .
In case someone wants to accuse me of thinking I am a know-all, let me hasten to add I have maybe the same knowledge as most fans certainly no more. For more than 50 seasons no matter how well or badly we have done some people blame the Board each and every season.
