Agree to a certain extent about Rodgers. Its 2025 the scouting isn't just on him. When he came back he sat back and let Lawell's boy take the lead. Look at the bag of rubbish he bought us.
Then Rodgers got more involved after meeting Desmond. Jnr got the bullet and Rodgers got big money in our world last season. Idha, Engels and Trusty were brought in. None of them have been a outstanding success but all contributed to a double.
Think this window with players leaving and new arrivals is massive to move the club forward.

You may find it hard to believe but it's true. Everyone knew who Dembele was and he was set to join spurs for 5 million in January but move fell through last minute and we signed him under freedom of contract. This is not a secret it's common knowledge.

Most of the real quality we do sign are sold-on fairly quickly. Mind you, it's been a wee while since we signed a VVD, a Wanyama, Dembele, Edouarde, or a MOR. Although we do have a few current assets in Maeda, Hatate, AJ and Khun, but IMO several of the remaining outfield squad could and should be upgraded.

Once John Park left the scouting it all just about went pear shaped.
{Ed007's Note - Some people say Park had too much power and although I agree to an extent I was still glad that it was a "proper footballing man" Lawwell was listening to, when Park left the CEO thought he could just continue by himself doing what Park had been doing.}

I'll agree with you there Ed. But VVD, Fraser Forster, Wanyama, Moussa, Adam Matthews, Ryan Christie and Kristoffer Ajer - then that can't be sniffed at.

We have probably spent more time this century criticising whoever we thought was responsible for co- ordinating our scouts or deciding who was responsible for deciding who we should decide to buy . Over the 25 yrs there was almost unanimous agreement that we never had the right person doing the job . Our Board have been even less liked than Head of Recruitment, they can’t do anything righ either . Season Book prices were set by Board to not include pre- season friendly v Newcastle . This appeared to be last straw for some season book holders, who said they wouldn’t attend and hoped no one else did . Despite Newcastle fans hopping on band wagon and claim Celtic take up was dire we now know season book holders have taken up all sections only a few left . Our Boards alleged unpopularity hasn’t affected ticket sales any season and
this past 25 years have doubtlessly been the most successful quarter of century we have had in our lifetime .

Would imagine every support has a moan about the way there club is run.
Not many clubs have had their CEO appointment their son as head of recruitment. Spend 10s of millions on duds and at the Clubs AGM. Get told we can't talk about that its someone's family. Amateur stuff.

Why any ST holder would pay 25 quid for a pre season friendly astonishes and disappoints me, I would be struggling to get the motivation of going to a pre season friendly if it was on the ST.
This was a chance for ST holders to make a stance on being made mugs of by not stumping up for this game.

Most fans I know don’t give a damn who does what, as long as they have constant success, what they should and do concen themselves is when the wins dry up and we start losing 2/ 3 consecutive SpL.

The days of getting freebies is over . We don’t stop going to our local because we don’t get a free drink for Christmas or New Year . We pay to put air in tyre . It would be wrong for club, to allow adults to give youngsters a lift over turnstiles. Similarly club Board are entitled to charge for pre season friendly match.

I tried to get a lift over a few years ago and no-one would do it. Not surprising as I was about five foot ten and weighed about fifteen and a half stone.

Not looking for a freebie, a Season ticket up until fairly recently used to be 21 Games now its 19, you used to get an early round cup game, whether it was a Euro or domestic and a pre season friendly. In that time of reducing games Season ticket prices have risen around 25%.
