The deal was done with Howe a number of weeks ago but (and there is a genuine reason) it can't be announced just yet.
So far it's in line with the info I got a while ago, and which I shared here, that the club want to make one overall announcement about the new management team but that's not possible at the minute.
I heard yesterday from the same source that there are a few definite PL players who are being lined up as part of his future plan and DD will fund them but I didn't get any names.
Keep the faith bhoys, all will come good in good time. I heard it'll be Monday 24th May or thereabouts. HH.

Agree to a certain extent about Rodgers. Its 2025 the scouting isn't just on him. When he came back he sat back and let Lawell's boy take the lead. Look at the bag of rubbish he bought us.
Then Rodgers got more involved after meeting Desmond. Jnr got the bullet and Rodgers got big money in our world last season. Idha, Engels and Trusty were brought in. None of them have been a outstanding success but all contributed to a double.
Think this window with players leaving and new arrivals is massive to move the club forward.

You may find it hard to believe but it's true. Everyone knew who Dembele was and he was set to join spurs for 5 million in January but move fell through last minute and we signed him under freedom of contract. This is not a secret it's common knowledge.

Most of the real quality we do sign are sold-on fairly quickly. Mind you, it's been a wee while since we signed a VVD, a Wanyama, Dembele, Edouarde, or a MOR. Although we do have a few current assets in Maeda, Hatate, AJ and Khun, but IMO several of the remaining outfield squad could and should be upgraded.

We have probably spent more time this century criticising whoever we thought was responsible for co- ordinating our scouts or deciding who was responsible for deciding who we should decide to buy . Over the 25 yrs there was almost unanimous agreement that we never had the right person doing the job . Our Board have been even less liked than Head of Recruitment, they can’t do anything righ either . Season Book prices were set by Board to not include pre- season friendly v Newcastle . This appeared to be last straw for some season book holders, who said they wouldn’t attend and hoped no one else did . Despite Newcastle fans hopping on band wagon and claim Celtic take up was dire we now know season book holders have taken up all sections only a few left . Our Boards alleged unpopularity hasn’t affected ticket sales any season and
this past 25 years have doubtlessly been the most successful quarter of century we have had in our lifetime .

Not a contradiction des more wrong way about it. Firstly we all know there’s players he’s wanted and not got, (that’s on club) so any list he has isn’t his list it’s what club put to him, I’m not sure the statement made was correct or positive for someone who clearly progressed our team this year .
If someone’s opinion is football related on style, pace of play etc etc then it’s an opinion that’s each to there own,
For me club backed him last year ( dragged heals on idah giving him a bit of price tag, maybe dragged heels on Engels perhaps he wasn’t first target ) and imo got better results, they’ll need to back him again this year and hopefully we see another improvement.
With the titles and results on and off pitch this club has seen, it’s hard to accept any negativity tbh, moan and groan about final, about performance levels after cl exit, about sevco results, but end results have been positive, especially for the manager the post is aimed at.

I wonder have other successful teams eg. Bayern Munich who like Celtic have dominated their domestic league in recent years, have a number of their players criticised openly on club’s forums . Do a small number of Bayern supporters roar abuse at their own players .
I cannot understand why fans play big money for season books or individual match tickets and make it harder for team to win by letting player know in no uncertain terms if he makes a bad pass .
Engels has said recently he thinks for a youngster he is playing well in his first year in foreign country. He reads Celtic forums and is unhappy with some of our fans comments . It would be very bad for club if the unnecessary and undeserved criticism encouraged him to make up his mind to go .
I am sure B R spends a lot of his time encouraging players and trying to build their confidence. Imagine how he hates reading the nonsense some write in Celtic social medium and hearing the loud negatives from fans during match.
We all know the Celtic team isn’t perfect, never was never will be, but we have had a lot of success and a bit of encouragement as a way of showing appreciation would probably help us to be a little better.

Having so much success in recent years can be both a blessing and a curse. Many supporters have never 'had it so good' and love every minute, while those of a certain age maybe take this period for granted because of the lack of domestic competition.
Even if you go back only a couple of decades, there can be no doubt that the quality and class of the current squad compared to the MON and WGS squads of that era are night and day.
We treaded water for too long in the wake of their liquidation and although we maintained a level of success our standards dropped and any European reputation we may have had, evaporated.
One thing I will say, is this season we had a very decent CL campaign with most of the current squad and if we are to continue making progress, we need to ensure new arrivals are real quality.

Our wingers were jota, abada, haksabanovuc and maeda an we now have jota, maeda, Kuhn and yang, so I would say we are stronger now.
Midfielders were Callum, mooy, hatate, iwata, mor, Turnbull and we now have Callum. Hatate, Engels, Bernardo, McCowan, Holm, I would say we are weaker now but there is not much between them.

I think some people want to be different and negative.
As far as I am concerned we have been very successful over the last 2/ 3 yrs Why not enjoy them . Does it improve your enjoyment if you think we were better at another time .
Personally, I started following Celtic in the mid 60’s I wouldn’t even think about comparing any team with the Lisbon Lions.
This is all pointless because the ability of individual players in any team, doesn’t make team better or worse . Speed, teamwork, tactics system of play are some of the aspects that can make a team better than another team.

Here’s a position-by-position breakdown to see where we stand now compared to when Ange left:
Goalkeeper – Stronger
Kasper Schmeichel is definitely an upgrade on Joe Hart, and Sinisalo looks more solid than Siegrist. So we’re in a better place here.
Right Back – Same
Still relying on Ralston and Johnston. No real change in this area.
Right Centre Back – Same or Slightly Stronger
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Welsh are still in the squad, and we’ve added Nawrocki for more depth. Might just edge it as an improvement.
Left Centre Back – Same or Slightly Weaker
Scales remains, and we’ve swapped Starfelt for Trusty. Hard to say this is a step up.
Left Back – Stronger
Bringing in Schlupp and Tierney is a clear boost over what we had with Bernabei, especially in the Scottish league.
Central Midfield – Same or Weaker
We’ve lost a lot here with Mooy, O’Riley (if he goes) , Turnbull and Iwata all out. In their place, we’ve got Engels, Bernardo, McCowan and Holm – decent players, but overall it feels like a downgrade or at best just holding steady.
Wingers – Stronger
Haksabanovic and Abada have moved on, but Kuhn and Yang offer more quality and consistency. We’ve improved out wide.
Strikers – Weaker
Losing Kyogo and Oh and only bringing in Idah just isn’t enough. This is clearly a weaker position now.
Overall Verdict:
There are definite improvements in key areas like goalkeeper, left back and the wings. But we’ve taken a hit up front and midfield (debatable) . On balance, Celtic probably are a bit stronger than when Ange left, but not by a big margin. All that being said we have improved in Europe this season.

As buzz bomb said yesterday fans were complacent and may have affected. Club . Before Saturday we discussed Celtic Park improvement, players of bygone age . After Sat our team, and manager have been scrutinised from top to bottom, was it complacency that caused us to ignore team and Aberdeen before match, and then with a wake - up call we are all over team with a fine comb.
