Everyone's different and I don't know if I could do this but if you were offered a ticket for the h*** end for Sunday, would you take it?
I probably couldn't do it surrounded by all the bile. But watching the 2k Celtic fans in the corner party and sing constantly irrespective of the score would be amazing. What would you do, Bhoys?

Nope. for obvious reasons ?.

Was at the Copland Road side of the piggery, exactly where you are asking, at the disaster game in 1971. Was with my dad as I was 14 at the time and we weren't sitting but standing in amongst the lot of them. Left between 5 and 10 mins before the end.

Tell you how bad it was standing amongst them. Someone from behind us called out "Jimmy". Jimmy turned round and got a pie thrown in his face. One a H"n, always a H"n.

Nothing to do with Ibrox but my brother lives in Portlethen and asked me if I wanted to go to a Sheep v Celtic game. The seat was in with them and my brother reminded me to stfu if Celtic scored. We did through a George Burley pen and we were sitting sidewards onto it and he was up celebrating but managed to turn it into a tirade. The sheep were not amused.

That was a massive penalty by Craig Burley ( not his uncle George ? ) for the only goal of the game, which helped Celtic stop the Ten in 1998.

I was in the Main Stand for a reserve match with over 30,000 at the game.
It was no fun and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I think yesterday was the Anniversary of the 1994 match when the Celtic fans were denied tickets by Sir David.
A good few Celtic fans were scattered about Ibrox that day to see Collins score another brilliant free kick.

Naw, I couldn’t watch a game and not be able to express my emotIons about events on the pitch .

01 May 2025 16:35:30
It really depends on whether or not you can clap if they score and hold it in if we score.

I was at the League Cup final v Hibs a wee while back in the spoon-burners end. I found it very funny as they scored first and went berserk, but hadn't even time to get a song going before Kyogo equalised, before going on to score the winner later in the match.

The irony of the Hibs support, one minute calling Celtic fei*ian bas*ards, then shortly after singing " if it wasn't for the Hibees ye'd be huns".

Poor souls our cousins in the east.

I was in the Dunfermline end for the 2007 cup final. Even that was hard going. We won 1-0, rotten game from memory. I left with 5 minutes to go and managed to put outrun a steward to get into the Celtic end to celrbrate.

I’ve been in the away end a few times growing up.

I was in amongst the Hibs fans in their Main Stand a couple of times and also with the Falkirk fans in their Main Stand.
It wasn’t too bad because there was a few Celtic fans mixed in with them.

{Ed007's Note - I was either in or around the St Mirren directors box in 1986 when we won the league. My dad got the tickets but he wasn't keen on going as he didn't see much point in it but as it was the day before my 12th birthday me & my mum guilt tripped all week over it until he caved in.}

That’s a brilliant memory to have with your Dad Ed. ?.

{Ed007's Note - It is that Buzz ???

Wid a sit with the shame of Scotland? Could ah? Would ah? Should ah? Naw on three counts why wid ye waant tae? I got free tickets for Motherwell v the then Rangers in maybe 1987/ 88…me and the wife’s cousin who went to the games with me at that time…don’t quote me…. ask Buzz…. Graeme Robert’s nearly scored…me saying wisnae ma best shout…in their end…ma better halfs cousin was rubbishing himself…the wife’s cousin was feart in case somebody recognised me as I came from a very Protestant village…. Ally Dick was signing for them at that time…who apparently was Catholic…i know not the man…. square heid smelly armpits beside me said…. ‘whit dae ye make ae that Ally Dick coming up tae here thinking he’d sign with us (quote) ‘Wae his acrobat hinging oot. ’. Eventually after much deliberation we figured out he was referring to our Lord and Saviour…Jesus on the cross. You’ve called yourself a Christian on this forum. If that sits ok with you batter in and sit with the heathens.

Think it was the 1976 league cup final, they won 2-1 after extra time, I was in the old stand above the enclose at hampden among them.

The old fellow got the tickets, think he was a bit the worse for wear when he got them

Not a good experience.

I was a steward at Celtic Park and my turnstile was designated as a HT gate in SC QTR Final against them in 2004. I was cursing my luck as I'd miss most of the game. I was counting my blessings when my turnstile suffered an electrical fault. I was dumped in the Rangers end when Larsson scored the only goal of the game I had to grip the bar infront of the Police control room to stop myself from celebrating lol.
Awful experience in that end, looking back I wish my turnstile never had a fault!

JFP, what's my Christian faith got to do with what I intended as light hearted banter?

JFP, is it because I'm not a catholic?

02 May 2025 06:21:41
9iar. Don’t think jfp was meaning anything towards you mate. Think he was meaning when he sat in with them the guy he was talking to was basically makeing fun of Jesus on the cross because that’s what catholics wear so there fore he wouldn’t sit with people like that. Catholic or Protestant you should not be mocking Jesus. He is the saviour of both our faiths and should not be mocked. So if you Christian you should not sit in with people like that who mock Jesus on the cross. Nothing bad towards you mate. He just pointing out don’t sit with Jesus mockers if your Christian.

On the back of this thread, I recall (stupidly but I've a rebellious streak in me) wearing my Celtic Tammy to the 'non denominational' High school I attended in the 70s.

Nobody laid hands on me but the verbals, sash singing etc I got off admittedly a minority of h*** week in week out was hard. It was during our first 9 iar so whenever a tirade got launched, I'd smile at them. That made them curse all the more. Tough times.

I think I can remember Bobby Lennox saying in his time of playing the Falkirk fans were very loud and bitter.
