The Champions League is a farce, nothing but a cash cow. I bet if I'd asked everyone on this page to list 10 teams they think have the best shot of being in quarter finals at the start of the season every one of us would have nailed 7 out of 8 of the line up. The semis will have a very familiar look as will the final, boring as hell.
The league pahase is nothng but a procession, the fact you can lose 3 or 4 games and still go through shows its a nonsens, all for show, just about making money. It's a shameful "competition" (I use this word cautiously as it's only really a competition for 5 or 6 teams) .
Bring back the European Cup, one entrant per country, no qualifiers, no group stage, simple knockout rounds all the way to the final. The beautiful game.

Its all down to finance mate, there’s usually a so called smaller team that does well Lille, Brugge ect and with the right recruitment of say 3 players a honestly think were not to far away from achieving big things.

What would be big things? (I'm not being argumentative ) For our budget even if we increased transfer fees and wages the group draw and then favourable home ties I think determines progress more than 3 signings . ie would Tierney miller and kvistgarden who would be big signings financially for us . but would they help us do big things?

How would the format change who would win it? Would it not still be the same teams there or there abouts? I bet if I asked everyone on this page who would win the Premiership, they'd say Celtic.

I love the new format as it removed seeding to an extent, seeding imo has blighted a lot of sports, however the best teams will always progress especially over two legs, if you look at the Scottish cup semis its the same teams every year.
{Ed007's Note - I think the new format is a great idea and a breath of fresh air compared to what had become a boring & monotonous format. I used to only watch our matches and maybe the odd other game but kept up with the highlight shows but this year I found myself watching a lot more games and not just ones that had any bearing on Celtic.}

The Quarter Finals once again only includes the Top 5 leagues and 6 of those clubs played in the Quarter Finals last season.

DRB a believe big things for us is another European final and mb just mb QF of Cl, your right am not sure those three would progress us to that level and that's the 1s a think we will go for but for me need another mb 2 CB who av not a clue, bhoys on here no btr than me.

I agree with Ed007; there was nothing I could not agree with about the league section. Many teams like ourselves had some brilliant results and some their fans want to forget .
Liverpool topped the league but it didn’t help them much as they exited competition at their next stage . Maybe they put too much effort concentrating on league and lost a little bit of their edge . To me playing 8 different teams brought a good variety into league and we saw teams playing against teams that they hadn’t played against before .
I am hopeful that we can all see Celtic qualifying for the next number of Champions League’s and enjoy more leagues like this season.
