With the supposed interest in Lennon miller what do people think the ceiling price is for us . I've never seen the boy play and think he's the absolute standout on the park or even they're team or as the press are now saying "the Scottish talent of a generation". whereas with Lewis Ferguson I thought he stood out in his Aberdeen team days and mgowan stood out at Dundee.

I wouldn’t pay more than £4M with add ons because we could get him for nothing on a pre-contract in January.

A player is only worth what a club will pay for him but other clubs might be thinking the same and Motherwell might need to lower their asking price.
Although Motherwell will be hoping for a bidding war.

Buzz if we want the boy we will need to pay double your £4m.
I would pay that as we need to stop arsing about and letting all the best young Scottish talent get away.
It was a major mistake in not signing young ferguson.

Although transfers between two Scottish clubs are usually lower than valuations outwith the SPL. I worry that the Board are still working on 2005 prices and estimates. The last 'window' has shown us £8m seems to be the new £4m. What I'm saying is roughly double the cost of Broony may be required?

Ferguson was definitely one that got away and I feel he wanted to come to Celtic more than what I feel Miller does.

Ferguson still had 2 years left on his contract when Bologna paid a bargain £3M for him.
Big difference to Miller who will only have 9 months left on his current Motherwell contract, when the league season starts in August.

Paying £8m for a young raw talent from Motherwell FC who will have 9 months left of his current contract come the start of next season is financial madness .

Who says motherwell want 8 million? The daily record so it must be true.

{Ed007's Note - It wasn't even the Daily Record, they lifted the story from the biggest football related click-baiting site on the 'net, Football Insh1ter who wrote:

"Lyon are ready to make an offer up to £8million in a bid to beat the likes of Celtic to Miller as they look to persuade Motherwell to cash-in on their prize asset."

Miller has a contract offer from Motherwell on the table so it's not cut and dried he will be on the move this summer but we can forget about any notion of him leaving Motherwell on the cheap never mind next summer as a free agent. If Celtic do sign Miller I expect it to be a new record fee between Scottish clubs.}

I feel that last summer Celtic displayed a more flexible approach towards what they were prepared to pay . Engels was far from the finished article but because BR expressed a desire to sign him, Celtic pushed out the boat and paid top price for him . Idah was another example of Celtic paying whatever it took to buy the player, this was because B R pushed them hard. to sign him and we finished up probably paying double what Idah seemed to be valued at originally.
I think it’s rather harsh to label Board to be working at values 20 old yrs .
Whether we buy Lennon Miller or not is most likely to depend on whether BR really wants him and of course if Lennon Miller wants to sign for Celtic .
It’s hard to know if a player based in Scotland who is likely to be. moving relatively soon wants to sign for Celtic or not . Most players in that position aren’t going to say they don’t want to sign for Celtic, as they want to keep options open .

9 months left on his contract, he's worth 4 million at a push. If we want him, then it's a pre-contract. Not sure if he wants to come to us.

Who is he going to replace in our team. Engels, no chance, Hatate if he leaves, if not, no chance, Berbardo or McGowan, not sure, CM, not yet.

It's a difficult one.

{Ed007's Note - So you think that the best young Scottish player in the league isn't worth what Scott Brown was 18 years ago? We moan about not spending money and stockpiling it, we moan when the Club do spend it (Engels & Idah) and we moan about money the Club haven't even spent yet but at the end of the day it's not our money, if Brendan Rodgers wants Miller and we lose him over £1 or 2 million you can be sure as Hell the support will moan about it a la John McGinn and Rodgers might possibly react the same.
All those players you list aren't in our team, they're in our squad and we have to plan for the future as well as just next season when McGregor will be a year older and Hatate might not be here.}

I've watched him few times against us and on Saturday against them I think he's going to be magic especially if brendan can can work with him get him whatever cost if we don't we will regret it
Ps I'd have loved Ferguson.

{Ed007's Note - I was going down the road of buying Miller and loaning him back to Motherwell for a year which I'd still not be against but the more I watch him the more I think he is already capable of playing for us at SPFL level and under Rodgers tutelage he will only get better.}

He's at least on a par with Bernardo and McCowan so he could easily play a role in our midfield next season.

Having watched majority of celtic games this season, I'm willing to give a personal opinion of the following players, although an awful lot of you will entirely disagree with me. 1 Engel slow burner whose now one of our best and most consistent players. 2 Hatate, who up until a few games ago appeared to have lost interest and enthusiasm, and yet recently seems to have come alive and is getting stronger the longer the game lasts. 3 Mc Cowan fantastic squad player who raises the tempo of the play when he comes ob as a substitute. 4 Idah cumbersome frustrating character who can't fathom out the off-side rule. And finally I go out on a limb and say that young Miller is overrated and I wouldn't be the least bothered if he doesn't come to celtic. Without naming names I know there are a couple of players in the spl currently employed who could do a turn for celtic in the short term. These boys are strong, pacy and would be relatively cheap to fulfil the centre - forward spot.
