I know little of Johnny Kenny but not only should he be watching this thinking that kyogo place is there to target he should be hearing that from coaching staff as well. Not good enough from kyogo and hatate again. To many errors and lapses.

Agreed, Hatate needs to improve his touch and Kyogo needs replacing.

I have been biting my tongue on Kyogos goal return this season but now seems a good a time as any to offload. I know he wasn’t the only one who was off it today but we have 44 league goals this season and he has 6! … We are almost half way through the season, well out in front, and our main striker has 6 goals to his name. Whatever happened to the days when a rampant Celtic’s main striker got 30+ goals? Have we had the best of Kyogo and need to move on?

If 90% of our possession is between our cbs, fbs and goalkeeper, how is a striker meant to be effective. He is constantly making runs and ignored while we piss arse around making nothing passes waiting for teams, that have no intention of, coming out. How often as a % do our so called wingers pass the ball backwards as opposed to going forwards. I get Kyogo misses a few but most games his supply is atrocious and people moan about him coming too deep. Goal scoring depends to an extent on the law of averages and we don’t create enough at times!

I thought Hatate today was wasteful and error prone.

Unsure if he had an injury but McCowan for me was our best player in the first half, surprised to see him subbed with Hatate continuing his headless chicken act ?

Fair point Chasa, but if we have scored 44 in the league so far we are creating plenty of chances I would say, just that Kyogo isn’t on the end of much of them…. He has been great for us but he is most certainly not a natural prolific goal scorer.

Back to not giving a supply to strikers, and we are not. Far too many safe worthless passing! Until we get winger’s turning defenders we will continue with 90% possession and no benefit from it. What ever way you want to wrap it up, we are not improving. As much as we are still successful, this team looks tired and in need of evolution.

Every position can be improved but even if replaced, our strikers need an improved supply line.

chasaboy,

I agree with you.

Yesterday was the perfect example of a lack of supply to the strikers.

From the opening minutes Dundee Utd signalled load and clear that they would everything to deny us playing through the middle of the park.

Despite constantly and unsuccessfully probing through the middle we never moved the ball out wide in any meaningful way, shape or form.

Yang was poor, when Palma came on he kept turning inside? It makes me wonder if the subs on the bench actually watch the game and understand what is/ is not working? ?

Other than Kuhn and Maeda, we're short on wide players who can unlock defences.

Palma needs to be sold, Forrest is done and Yang needs loaned out - IMO.

Palma went from one on one with the chance to get a cross in, to turning inside where the defender just stepped across him and brushed him aside. Attempted the same thing several times with same result. Unfortunately he’s not alone in that poor decision making. We need wingers who will run at defenders and unsettle then forcing them to break ranks. Our tippy tappy passing is just a spectator sport for defences to sit and watch till we run out of ideas, and eventually time.
