The hold up is celtic want a permanent deal and torino want a loan and celtic have said no to a loan.

Is anyone forgetting one thing? If Gordon hadn't saved that penalty Celtic would be in The Europa League instead. The two goals that were conceded weren't the keeper's fault. Rodgers will find out who his defence shall be when Jozo and Erik are back to full fitness. The main thing is Celtic are back with the Big Boys again. There are bigger teams than us who aren't even in the Group Stages.

{Ed007's Note - The only thing I will say is that Gordon should have been stronger with the ball in his hands for the second goal. At balls like that a GK should always expect to be clattered from somewhere, Janko was trying to block their runner which he did or he'd have been on top of Gordon. Who'd have been getting blamed if an opposition player had knocked the ball out his hand like that or would we have been shouting for a foul on the GK?}

1.) 24 Aug 2016 01:39:53
Have to agree with Ed here. Gordon should go through anyone that is coming towards him to save the ball, no matter if its his own team mate or not.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 02:45:05
The pen was kicked at him, the player took a bad pen.

3.) 24 Aug 2016 05:51:24
I think you seriously need to look at that second goal again stevie. Get Gordon out. He's a liability.

4.) 24 Aug 2016 06:52:46
Totally agree Gordon was at fault, not even as much about clattering anyone, he's just got to take the ball in properly and then stand his ground. I feel a number of mistakes he makes are because he's scared he's going to get hurt. He's obviously not got the crazy gene that most keepers have!

5.) 24 Aug 2016 07:01:09
Stevie the 2 goals that were conceded weren't the goal keepers fault! U having a laugh! That 2nd goal should be the goalies all day long! Yes janko got in his road but the goalies got to take that and clean him out if need be! But the thing I don't get is why people aren't picking up on the first goal! That was woeful goal keeping. he actually gets across in plenty of time, but let's the ball go through his hands! It was shocking! The guy couldn't actually believe he's scored if u watch his reaction!

6.) 24 Aug 2016 07:54:24
It's been the same for ages CG is a liability the second goal was a real present janko was poor but he was trying to protect CG from there runner.

7.) 24 Aug 2016 03:45:12
Correct ed it was that much of a farcical goal me and the brother where waiting on a whistle Gordon's not good ehnough and gets off with murder with us he had the ball in that grasp let go far to east for me janko and Gordon out de vries and lustig in till right back fills that void.

8.) 24 Aug 2016 08:24:25
Said it before, CG is a good enough reactive shot-stopper but is not in command of the six yard or penalty box. He stands on the goal line too much for me when, iMovie, he should be out a bit clattering friend and foe alike to get the ball. Instead, he waits on goal line for the opposition to have a shot. Just my tuppenceworth.

9.) 24 Aug 2016 08:47:10
CG never at fault for 2nd. Yes he had it in his grasp and if not his own player knocking it out then yes a foul on our GK. If Janko had been positioned properly then he'd have spotted the runner earlier. Janko at fault for second. I think big CG saved us last night. I do agree he's not commanding enough and accident prone but credit where credits due.

{Ed007's Note - Gordon has came out and said he never even seen Janko. That's a ridiculous statement from a GK to make, if he's not aware of where his defenders are how does he know to come for the ball or stay on his line?
No GK is in control of his own box if he doesn't know where his defenders are. He's let himself down again by being very weak when it comes to the physical side of the game, Janko hardly flew into him at speed, he never knocked him off his feet, it was a bump and Gordon's weak grip let him down. That ball should have been in a vice like grip against his chest.}

10.) 24 Aug 2016 09:56:03
He should have saved the header as well. He dives far enough across and the ball goes right under his hand! Wouldn't be surprised to see DDV on Saturday.

Instead of forking out money for Sinclair ( who clearly doesn't want to come ) why don't they spend that money on securing the services on Paddy Roberts on a permanent deal from Man City. He's never going to get a game at Man City and if he keeps playing the way he has then we're never going to get that chance of signing him. Get him signed now.

Steviebhoy68

1.) 22 Jul 2016 12:08:43
How is it clear he doesn't want to come?

2.) 22 Jul 2016 12:14:34
Why don't we just give calvin miller a chance?

3.) 22 Jul 2016 12:52:22
Spot on DRB, most on here won't know who he is, they will need to google him lol seen the boy a good few times, he looks really good. electric pace and has a better cross than most of the 1st team, I wouldn't complain if we seen him step up to the 1st team, very bright future for the bhoy as with a few others in the development squad.

4.) 22 Jul 2016 13:19:22
Villas asking price is the problem, not sinclair himself, otherwise the lad wouldve said from the get go.

5.) 22 Jul 2016 14:01:33
Said a few times on here young Kelleher due a chance very promising and ralston looks good to.

6.) 22 Jul 2016 14:23:12
We have had 4 season to blood youngsters and KT is the only one who has come through. Why now do you think we will bring through 4 or 5 especially with Rodgers track record of overlooking youth and opening the chequebook (which seems to have gone missing at Celtic Park) ?

RD was meant to be the man for this and you would be lucky if our youth players played over 50 games in his 2 years.

7.) 22 Jul 2016 15:15:25
The only way we'll know if there ready is by playing them Kelleher looks not to far away and with us struggling for CB give him a try great in the air and good on the ground.

8.) 22 Jul 2016 15:23:47
Calvin Miller looks like an excellent talent, would love to see him given a chance.

9.) 22 Jul 2016 19:09:16
We can only speculate on why we haven't signed Sinclair, maybe we haven't made a bid, maybe he or his agent are holding back until they see if someone they prefer want him, maybe Villa holding out for more money, maybe H Flanaghan has heard about the young female talent in the Glasgow area and or maybe H F knows of the cold winters in Glasgow which wouldn't suit her dress sense.

Utter embarrassment is the only words I can use after watching the match against Maribor tonight. The board has known for over a year now that this squad has needed strengthening and it simply hasn't happened. Was this the reason why Lennon left? I guess he's the only person that can answer that question. As for Ronnie Delia he is going to need time to take in his own brand of player for the vision of the style of play that he wants for this club and not what P.L wants. It's possibly a blessing in disguise that celtic didn't qualify for the C.L. As it would only have been papering over the cracks for what we have all known for the last year or so.

Just seen that we're now favourites to sign Steven Fletcher ahead of Everton. Any news on that?

Steviebhoy68

1.) SB68, I hope not he is not the answer we are looking for, injury prone and not worth anywhere near the £6M that will be required to get him. For that sort of money you would want a "better class" of striker. Hail Hail.
TamTimTic

2.) Do we really want someone at our club that thinks spitting all over a guy working for pennies is something to video and then put on the internet. Does he think he is a tory MP really gone down in my estimations after the weekend

3.) I'd spend £6m on Alfred Finnbogason (Heerenveen), Jonathan Soriano (Salzburg), Jordan Rhodes (Blackburn), Charlie Austin (QPR), Aron Johannsson (AZ), Philipp Hosiner (Austria Wien), Danny Ings (Burnley), Vincent Aboubakar (Lorient), Ivan Santini (Kortrijk) or Abderrazak Hamdallah (Aalesund) before Steven Fletcher.

I'm actually quite happy with who celtic have brought in during the transfer window. Ok the guys who have been brought in aren't your Larssons Suttons Or Hartsons because those days are gone but a few of the guys that have joined have came from clubs that are in a much better standard of league than ours. So I think we should wait and see how the season goes before we start criticising the players or the management.

Would have been better if we started with Ajax at home Millan away then back to back with Barca then Ajax away then finishing with Milan at home. Any thoughts about that?

Tough group to get out of but none of those teams will fancy coming to Paradise. If the board makes three descent signings to replace the main guys who left who knows what can happen. At the end of the day there are no easy games in the Champions League as we're in with the Big Boys once again. Hail Hail.

To be honest if we can't beat this lot at home to progress then we don't deserve to be in the champions league or even the Europa league. Hail Hail.
