With that line up it seems he's not going for it and concentrating on the league game this weekend.

Exactly my thoughts. Just enough to try to get a result but holding back for the league game.

I agree SW1 What a surprise I can't say I blame him for the line up just a surprise.

It’s still a good lineup, although some of our best players are on the bench.
I’m still not sure about playing both of our only available first team strikers.

Looks that way to me.

Don't think Scales is good enough defensively, think it's a mistake playing him tonight.

Surprised, but happy with that starting eleven, although I may have played just one striker as a precaution; plus why 2 goalies on the bench?

100% correct to rest key players for tonights game.

The league is the priority ?

Really? Who are we playing at the weekend. Liverpool? Man City? Barcelona? Real Madrid?

Are we really saying that if we’d actually tried to compete in the conference league that we’d have sacrificed the league?

Momentum and performances are also important too. I’d say both our momentum and performances are average to poor right now. You could argue that it would have more of an impact than continuing in a competition by winning and playing well.

Did Ange not say he was happy with the squad and how we have been able to add that depth? Our approach right now is baffling but I suppose small minded outlook makes for small minded outcomes.

In 2003 Celtic had a magnificent team when we got to Seville but the old Rangers won the Treble.
And then in 2008,Rangers got the the UEFA Cup Final in Manchester and they were the best team in the league but yet Celtic snatched the title.
Basically it was because too many games caught up with both clubs.
I would rather win the league and get into the Champions League next season, instead of winning the Conference League, which will guarantee a Europa League group place.

2003 on goal difference and 2008 was by 3 points. What stats do you have to say that both of those were as a direct result of the European runs? Seems to me it’s just assumption and opinion but I know you like the stats.

Are there not campaigns that were won by 18 points or more? Have you looked at the European campaigns those seasons?

What about when EPL teams have won the CL and still win the league. Maybe Man U a number of years ago.

It’s like people are forgetting the bonus of momentum and just a feel good factor from winning and playing well. If you look at our results and performances over the years on exiting Europe I am pretty sure they haven’t been great. The atmosphere goes flat in the players and in the fans.

I hope that’s not the case now. I’ll be expecting a blockbuster performance on sunday against the mighty Hibernian.

If clubs won by 18 points or more, it was probably because they didn’t get to the latter stages of the European competitions.
Remember Celtic have struggled at Easter Road for a number of years.
It might not be the standards of your beloved EPL but it’s still a very hard match for Celtic.

Disagree. The quality is relative. It’s no harder for us up here than it is for anyone in any other league.

Ange would do better from playing a settled 11 and using the resources when he has to.

For me the chopping is unsettling the only players and the team.

From what you are saying I’ll expect us to be 6 points ahead at the weekend as we should win and Rangers should get pumped ??‍♂️.

To be fair to Ange, he normally does play his best team.
The Alloa match would confirm that.
If Ange wins the title in his first season, he will have played a blinder.
He can’t keep everyone happy but I for one, will be delighted.

As will I BuzzBomb ? considering what he inherited.

Sadly you can't please everyone ?

I just hope Ange gets the performance and result against Hibs as a few on here will criticize yesterday's selection. It is a tough away game and hopefully we can win all the games leading up to Ibrox and pile the pressure on. They play 2 days before their cup game not sure if that'll be rearranged.
