Sigur playing rb for his club tonight.

Personally I am not that convinced of Sigur. Rarely wins his aerial duels at 40%.
Defensive Contribution's are low at 55%.
Chances created even lower at 20%.
Pretty low in the areas we need players to perform.
Colby Donovan has higher stats in comparison.
Now appreciate this sort of data isn’t everything but if we are holding on to Johnston for another season. I think it makes sense to send Donovan on loan and use Ralston as back up, or vice versa.

Big Tony's a trier but he came on the other night he looked like he was towing a caravan with a family of 5 in it.

The thing with Ralston is he’d be starting for any other club in the league.
Great guy to have in and around the squad. Just not good enough to start for Celtic for a long period of time.

Tony is not a back in any sense. He should have never been given a contract extension.
If you go back and watch him after coming on midweek, and see the space he gave their winger to collect the ball and look up before either running at him or crossing the ball in.
He was at least 10 - 15 yards off the winger all the time he was on.
He gave himself no chance at closing the gap and in other games we will be badly punished by teams with big strikers who get on the end of crosses from out wide.
Put him out on loan and definitely keep Donovan who has a real future with us.

Don't believe he has one Maeda. Contract is up in may. I've been a huge supporter of the lad but everyone gets surpassed and replaced eventually. Donovan hasn't shown that until now. Heres hoping he pushes on and Tony will always be a Celtic hero, just a different one than others.

Phil, AR got an extension at the same time as Scales.
I agree that he has been a good servant and would due for the shirt but that doesn't get you a game now with the quality of player we are now bringing in.
I also thank him and hope he moves out on loan and gets regular game time.
{Ed007's Note - Tony Ralston didn't sign an extension, MIP - Scales renewed in April - but it was reported in July that "Ralston was set for new contract talks" but that's the last I've heard/read about it, as it stands Ralston is out of contract next summer.}
