On the transfer front in some way I can see why it would be wise to see how things play out if champions league was a one off, However we seem to repeat the same strategy every window. As much as people think Ange had the board eating out his hand it’s not true, Dom McKay put his head above the parapet for it to be chopped off, after that I don’t think much was smooth apart from Japanese league players mainly due to their break/ transfer window.
What I would say though as a positive it looks like our caliber of players sought have changed, we have cleared circa £300k a week of wages off our books including the loans returned, loans out, releases and sales. Our book balancing for transfers is positive I think about £24 million between last summer, January and this summer. If we could keep Engels, Johnston and add a left back option, GK option and 2 midfielders as well as Hassan and a LW project we could give a serious dent in the champions league.

Once a player has agreed personal terms with another team I'd be inclined to sell them. As professional as they are sometimes you just don't get the same player back. Everyone's mindset is different. I'd be looking for new blood, fresh energy, someone really looking to make a name for themselves. And to be fair our signing this season, although very minimal, and the players to which we're linked with.
Just seem a level or 2 above our normal shopping market. It'll be interesting to see how our squad looks when the window shuts. We've been slow can't deny that, but if slow means quality signings, I'll take it. Just hope it doesn't hamper our CL qualification.

Realistically i just hope we do enough to get there and compete. can't see any dents being made.

I think you would be suprised how many players have (through their agents) and nothings came of it. Until players values are met they will not be leaving our club, that’s a sure thing. Hopefully though we as fans get what we want and the board get their sales.
