I'm hoping Mally we have deals/ agreements with players (plural is on purpose) lined up and once the Engels move happens the club starts signing at a rate of knots.
This board should easily be in a position to say to MON, anything we bring in for Engels and other players e.g. Palma, Rocky, Hatate etc (with the exception of AJ) is yours to strengthen the side.
That way we could have a much stronger, better equipped first say, 15 players, as well as reducing the age of the side. It would also ensure we're in the best position to qyalify for the CL group stages guaranteeing another £40M and, if AJ leaves, and additional £20M.

The pattern and practice has worn very thin over the years and all the while the squad has become weaker and watered-down. By all means sell for profit, but you have to re-stock the reservoir with quality in most positions, or the well will dry up.
Many replacements are too often a downgrade or even loan and we severely lack any forward plan or structure that will improve and progress the club that reflects the budget and backing we have.

We are trying Mally, we really are.
The agents are just incredibly difficult to deal with.
We can't compete with Premiership clubs.
We can't compete with Championship clubs either.
It's a World Cup year, so deals are more complicated.
Deals are always difficult to get done in the summer.
Jet fuel prices have gone up, so it's difficult to fly over for negotiations.
Players don't want to come to Scotland.
The weather isn't helping.
Some players have heard Glasgow has traffic.
A few agents apparently can't get a decent hotel room.
And one target was apparently keen to sign, but his dog has a fear of rain.
At this rate we'll be blaming the Earth's rotation by the end of August.
But we're trying Mally. That's the main thing. ?.

I think there is a chance that players and their agents want to see if offers come in from the top 5 leagues, where money not silverware is the biggest incentive. They are in no hurry.
Fares Ghedhemis is apparently wanting to stay in Italy with a bigger club, so we could hang about in that negotiations and end up with nothing, there are so many aspects of player transfers that slow things down or cause clubs to lose out or to move on.
With Baur his club is holding out for more than his actual valuation and we have put what we consider a good offer in, so there is a standoff until one side changes their stance.
Our reality in this instance is, if we don't sign him now, if he stays and plays well in the Bundeliga his valuation will sky rocket, potentially out of our price range.
With him, he is different from Balikwisha who didn't look brilliant before he came and now looks out of his depth but Baur looks like a player who could really make a difference, so imo he is worth paying a bit more for.

Don't get brainwashed by this board, they will ram Kasper and Duran into our heads and try and convince us they have broke the bank getting them and we should be grateful, when in reality they haven't spent a penny yet.
We should be signing our targets that have been mentioned regardless if AJ and Engels leave.

Absolutely Joe, selling the crown jewels and replacing them like for like isn't progressing. If we are selling one of our better players I want him replaced with hopefully even better. If we are getting 20 million for Engels I want to see this money re-invested in first team ready players.
Even if this money is spent on wages to attract quality so be it.
Would rather spend 6 million on wages on one proven quality player.

It was not me who fabricated a reason to ban our own fans from the stadium and kept them out until it was evident that we would lose the league without them.

It was not me who chose not to reinvest the money the supporters have poured into this club, allowing the club's cash reserves to grow while the squad was left short where it mattered most.
It was not me who oversaw transfer windows where obvious weaknesses were left unaddressed despite the club being in a strong financial position.
It was not me who paid around £12 million in tax when many supporters believe more of the club's profits should have been reinvested in strengthening the squad instead.
It was not me who made what many supporters regard as the disastrous appointment of Wilfried Nancy.
It was not me who presided over repeated failures to address the concerns raised by the support, despite years of protests, resolutions and calls for greater engagement.
It was not me who refused to give supporters a meaningful voice at board level, despite the club existing because of its fans.
It was not me who allowed relations with the support to deteriorate to the point where trust between the board and many fans has been severely damaged.
It was not me who, at the AGM, gave many supporters the impression that proceedings were being rushed to an early conclusion, depriving shareholders of the opportunity to fully question the board or vote on the reappointment of directors.
It was not me who gave Ross Desmond a podium at the AGM to widely criticise supporters and attack the fanbase, further deepening the divide between the board and those who follow the club home and away.
If there is a lack of unity between the board and the supporters, it did not begin with the fans. It is the result of years of decisions that many supporters believe have prioritised caution over ambition, dismissed legitimate concerns, and failed to respect the people who are the lifeblood of this football club. Unity is earned through leadership, accountability and respect, not demanded while those concerns continue to be ignored.
