On this date in 1953, Celtic Won the Coronation Cup.
A British Cup yet Celtic beat Hibs 2-0 in the Final - Brilliant.
Hibs were strong favourites having Won the Scottish league in 1951 and 1952.
Hibs were unlucky not to win 3 in a row because they lost the title to Rangers on goal average a few weeks earlier.
Hibs had a better goal difference plus if it was 3 points per win Hibs would’ve also won 3 in a row.
On this date in 1989,
Celtic beat Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish Cup Final to prevent a Treble with Joe Miller scoring the winner.
On this date 25 years ago,
Celtic lost 1-0 to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park which gave Kilmarnock a European place.
Hearts must really hate Celtic because we played a weakened side against Kilmarnock with Maloney getting his first start and Mark Fotheringham also started.
A Celtic victory would’ve given Hearts a European place.
Celtic beat Hearts 6 times that season when we went on to win our first treble since 1969.
Celtic beat them in both domestic cups plus a whitewash in the league meetings.
Then when Hearts needed a favour we played a weakened side and got beat.
Too Bad So Sad.

Buzz, sorry to be a pain. I realise we've been on the wrong end of contestable VAR decisions. But any chance of comparing the penalties given in all league games. Total penalties for our league games. Same for the New Club say for the 2 seasons prior to and subsequent to the introduction of VAR. Don't bother bro if that's too much hassle ?.

I’ve split it into 3 categories.
2 seasons plus the league games before VAR was introduced on October 22nd 2022 -
Sevco got 22 penalties and Celtic received 14 penalties.
From VAR being introduced until Crawford Allen left in May 2024 -
Both clubs received 24 league penalties each.
Since Willie Collum took over in the last 2 seasons -
Celtic have received 16 league penalties and Sevco have only received 9 league penalties.
Personally I put it down to Willie Collum bringing out his monthly review and making Audio evidence from VAR Public.
Beforehand VAR could do what they wanted and nothing was said.
The Sevco fans will be wanting it to go back to the days of No VAR or at least they will want Collum sacked and No Audio evidence.

Cheers Buzz. That confirms my thoughts that on balance, we've had a much fairer crack of the whip post VAR.
I can understand why the currants are raging because for decades prior to VAR, despite our almost constant dominance including most goals scored, they always got more penalties due to 'hunan error'.
