Is a statue for O’Neill warranted?
A true legend of the club. Absolutely phenomenal what he and the coaching staff pulled off this season. The board must be ecstatic with the result considering how much they fecked up. I for one do not believe they will react and there will not be any substantial change at the club. Hearts will go again next year.

I would agree. We should do it when he gets a chance to unveil it.

Interesting on the talksport interview he referred to DD as the owner of Celtic.

I think that’s a one off for Hearts and it will be at least another 40 years before they get as good a chance again.
Hearts never had European football and they were eliminated out of both domestic cups at the first knockout stage.
Hearts finished the season playing 15 games less than Celtic and they still ran out of steam.

Buzz I agree, they never had European football or an injury list like ours which really affected our season.
They also retained the same Manager which gave them some stability.
They didn't have a team that stood out above any others, it was simply we had a team a level below where we should have been. We brought the rest onto ourselves.
Next season they will have 3 qualifying rounds to qualify for CL and will need to build up their squad to sustain that.
They will find out how hard that actually is.
They will also find out how hard it is to compete for titles every season.
That isn’t so easy contrary to what people think.
Maintaining that level season after season is very difficult.
Our club has the winning mentality and that is not something that can be bought, it is learned and taught, it is a state of mind which we build into players.

I hope hearts go again next year, I hope they are better and stronger, I hope The Rangers and Aberdeen and Hibs do the same, it's the only way to make ourselves stronger and better, the nonsense years when St. Brendan was in charge of the so called invincible, who were rubbish in Europe was only because there was no opposition at home, and a terrible manager got a reputation for being an early riser.

The only way for us to improve is for everyone around us to do the same, normally agree.
There is no doubt they will as they probably still believe we are vulnerable, however if our board do what they should do and get us to rhe place we should have been 2 seasons ago, then no one will get near us now matter what they do.
It is now up to our board and that is where things may unravel.
This, as I have said many times, os the biggest summer we have had in 20 years.
