Thoughts off top of head with nothing better to do on another Saturday with no football.
It’s hard to see where the civil war ends - fans want change - but what does change look like?
Replacing CEO et al with other DD stooges achieves nothing - its as you were - and to date DD has indicated he’s going nowhere - but he’s not interested and there’s no way back for him or his arrogant boy after the AGM - he must know that - an egotistical narcissistic vengeful meglamaniac yes but a daft man no.
Without DD selling his shares its hard to see how Celtic move forward to become the modern day club the support aspires to - that competes on a European stage - a Bodo Glimpt or Copenhagen. - when we’re dealing with an incompetent self-protectionist board that’s telling us they’re playing a blinder and all is well from a structural perspective in term of recruitment and player trading model etc.
Or how we ever even get the feel good factor factor back sufficient to support the team to the title this season when we’re dealing with an intransigent board. The rantings of our interim chair apart from being an insult to our intelligence tells me nothing is changing any time soon.
‘Surely the main thing is to support Martin and the team’ sayeth Brian the politician’. if the board had done that in the January transfer window Brian we might not be where we are.
Been debating with myself whether to go to the game tomorrow - boycotted European packages - merchandise - haven’t bought as much as a pie at the ground - the Celtic board and Desmond’s make me nauseous - and I think ultimately protests or measures that financially damage the club will need to be ramped up to affect change - but have decided to do what I’ve done for 40 years as a season ticket holder rightly or wrongly and go despite not having much of an appetite for the game.
But I can understand those who are choosing to vote with their feet and stay away. The big test for me personally will be season ticket renewal time - and here’s the problem - despite the current situation when push comes to shove my heart will rule my head and I more than likely will - and the board know most of us will do the same - but I have given it serious consideration this year and I’m not 100% - that’s a first for me - and I’d wager I’m not alone.
It would be interesting to hear if other season ticket holders on here are intending renewing or not or general thoughts from other posters on the subject.

It’s a dilemma that’s for sure.
After decades as a season ticket holder I really don’t want to give it up. i have a relative working at Celtic who assures me the waiting list is not a myth and has counselled me that if I give it up it’s unlikely that I would ever get a chance of another one.
Like you it’s the friends that I have made over the years inside the stadium that tugs at the heart strings.
I have considered buying it and passing it on to someone I know who would take it for a year while I sit it out waiting on regime change,
however the club still gets the money so I am not being effective in forcing that change.
I suspect the club will go early on renewals this year with tight deadlines to commit and I believe the unscrupulous board will hang the threat of the waiting list over us all.
When it gets comes down to it I need to seriously consider if it’s my Celtic anymore and make my choice from there unless the collective can come with a scheme where all fans can band together with renewals and make progress.

Great Post JFP,
I will be renewing my 2 kids season tickets because I don’t want them to give up their good seats.
I get to nearly every home match although I don’t have a season ticket but I’m not sure I would renew myself if I did have one.
I’m high on the waiting list for a hospitality season ticket and I reckon I will be offered one this summer but there’s no chance I will be accepting it.

I have never known a season like this - and that includes the lockdown league and the Fergus McCann takeover. Simply because it has torn the support right down the middle with no solution in sight. Celtic, in my humble opinion will win nothing this season and the only people who will regret and be hurt by this are the support, the manager and a handful of players; while the Board remain unmoved. MON is currently the captain of the Titanic but this time there are multiple icebergs sinking the ship. The Board are the enemy within and their incompetence and bull headed attitude have caused this, with ridiculous recruitment, shuffling managers in and out to deflect attention and blame, while alienating supporters. The players meanwhile have been caught in a blender during a period of contradictory regimes, with differing opinions, coaching and preferences with the addition of a who's who of temp loans.
Also, they have been reminded regularly that they are maybe the worst Celtic squad ever assembled - and may want to prove that? The Board are currently unmoved and immoveable because of the Dictatorial power they yield backed up by financial reputation. Meanwhile, the support is focused on their removal and neglectful of a manager who has answered the call TWICE and needs us. Every game we have played since MON's second stint has been a battle because of under-performing players, new additions who while trying to settle, must wonder what they've come into amid a vast reduction in vocal backing replaced by agitation and abuse. Hatred and retribution against the Board has to be put on hold or games like Thursday will only recur, Because our rivals are fully focused on football and loving every minute of our self harming situation; and if we remain divided and distracted we fall.

I don’t have a season ticket no more, i'd renew JFP, if you don’t take it others will, they will sell out no matter what, just don’t buy anything else. The board because they make profit every year and win stuff think there doing a grand job, why we can’t bring in proper football people to run it I don’t know.

Celtic under a Torrie, unionist, capitalist and tyrannical leadership is not the Celtic for me.
When you have a club that is prepared to attack, lie about and criminalise it's own fans, that is not something I am willing to be a part of.
As I am not a football fan, only a Celtic fan, my intention is to give up football for good and focus on things that I actually enjoy doing.
Obviously the club will always have a place in my heart but all the joy I once had has been whittled down and I have gotten to a point that I don't even cheer or get emotional when we win or score, which should. never be the case and I say that with a heavy heart after decades of love and support.
So because of the way I feel right now, I can 100% say I won't be back at a game and I won't be giving the club a single penny while the Desmond's are still there. This may change over time or if the Desmond's go but I think there is a strong possibility that I will. never return.

As always JFP, on the money.
It's an utterly ridiculous scenario created by DD and carried out by the stooges on 'his' board.
Why any individual with his obvious power, would allow, let alone oversee, the club he claims to love, being held back in so many ways on and off the park, is beyond me.
We, as a family, gave up our x3 ST's when NL was appointed in the showers, I had no clue at that point we'd reach this juncture.
I appreciate the predicament that you and so many other supporters face.

It’s sad it’s came to that Weejoe and I can understand your frustrations.

Cheers buzz. ?.
{Ed007's Note - Joe, I don't know you or your situation but if you ever fancy coming on a podcast you - and anyone else for or against - just let me know. You and JFP could be our very own Waldorf and Statler ?
The amount of posts I delete from your wee fan(ny) club - you know who you are ya weirdo - is a highlight of my day ?
21 Feb 2026 21:05:53
Wilsin is no tory if that's who your talking about, Labour through and through.
{Ed007's Note - I honestly get the impression that Wilson wants the immediate "conflicts" resolved but his hands are tied ?♂️ At least he's fronting up better than Beaker Nicholson, and The Beach Boys are a legendary band.... Pet Sounds?
21 Feb 2026 22:24:46
Wilson sold out his values a long time ago. While he was a member of the labour party he was new labour, which was just red Torries. Wilson voted for stealth privatisation of the NHS and the Iraq war. He was also a unionist, despite being a member of the SNP and an advocate of independence in his early years.
Waldorf and Statler? Ya cheeky bar steward. ?
Ed because of my personal circumstances i prefer to remain anonymous but cheers for the offer. ?.
{Ed007's Note - ??

Weejoe,
you wear your heart on your sleeve and always fight your corner - power to you.
I'm sorry that supporters like you feel they've been backed into a corner and left to choose between a rock and a hard place.
21 Feb 2026 22:44:10
i am geting sick and tired of politic in this site so if your are not a labour or a communist youcan not support cetic.
{Ed007's Note - A Communist??? ?? Well that's me done because I'm neither a Communist or have I voted Labour for it must be 20+ years. ?
22 Feb 2026 11:30:24
Keep your head up Joe.
It’s our club and will return to us eventually.
Jesus will see to it. ?.
22 Feb 2026 12:34:53
Really sorry to hear that weejoe. I know we have had our differences but I think genuinely we sing from the same hymn sheet on lots of things.
It's brutal that fans are in this situation. Though I know especially at home in Ireland people are waiting years for season tickets and will be ready to take up the spaces if there are any.
I don't remember Celtic ever not being center right in their politics and are most defiintely unionist at their core. It's the fans that keeps our rebel heart beat and left social awareness going.
One thing that cheered me up today was at BB the end of mass the hymn was 960 played to the tune of "we cans we you sneaking out" ? I'm taking that as a sign that we are going to be ok ?.
