I would like to ask the board what was their business thinking on paying millions on tax once again and why they did not buy any players on a permanent basis?

Agree1 Disagree0

What is the obsession with the players on a permanent and spending the money we have?

Our track record hasn’t been great lately in many areas. In terms of signings it makes sense to have options to buy on these players. Currently don’t have a robust scouting set up etc so we can get a better look at them.

I know it’s a direct impact of the boards lack of foresight and terrible decision making however, I feel that was guidance from Martin. Why would they sign players now that the next manager may look at and think nah don’t like him.

As for the tax side of things. I have no idea how any of that works and I doubt anyone here really does unless they’re an accountant or work in finances.

Prob so they can say to sevco that’s how it’s done.

why not just answer yourself joe? its a question no one has a definitive answer to. however i'm sure if you kick and scream enough it will come to you in some sort of state of exhaustion.

Weejoe, I'm concerned about you getting RSI. Can I save you the bother of posting and do it for you? I know exactly what you're going to say as it's the same fecking thing you post 5 times a day.

You don’t need to be an accountant or work in finance to understand how tax works. Companies pay 25 % corporation tax on all net profits, it’s that simple. So if you want to calculate how much tax we pay, you divide net profits by 4. I believe you pay less if your net profits are below £250,000, which won’t apply to us this season.

Therefore, you should be aiming to reinvest your profits before the end of the tax year, and we have just missed an opportunity to do that this transfer window. This will result in us paying another significant tax bill that could have been easily avoided, and in doing so we could have strengthened the team and acquired assets we could sell in the future. It is gross negligence from the board for not doing so.

I know lots of fans don't care about finances but I do as they are vital if we want to remain successful and Iust say that our finances have been greatly affected by our failures in the transfer market this season. As things stand it has cost us around 90 million in lost revenue so far and that is without factoring in reduced gate receipts, reduced match day income and reduced revenue from retail sales. But we shouldn't worry as our board thinks they are doing a great job and will not be changing strategy.

believe it or not. we don't need it repeatedly rammed down our throats over and over and over. were living it.
and before you say it. we can't ignore your posts. you ARE EVERY SECOND POST .

{Ed007's Note - What if Joe's hobby is posting on here to annoy folk? I can dig that, I wish I had the energy still do do it.. Maybe I'll start blogging afterall...

03 Feb 2026 23:32:35
My posts are not designed to annoy ed. They are my way of venting the frustration and anger I am currently feeling, due to how our club is being ran. If people are going to come on and attack me though, then I will defend my position or point out that they are choosing to read what I post but they don't have to.

They have a choice, just like I did with bhoy88 posts. I just ignored him and his posts.

{Ed007's Note - No matter what I post, you post or anyone posts it'll annoy somebody.
