Let’s be honest here we aren’t winning any title when we have refs like cheating Beaton refereeing any top flight match involving us or the 2 Huns.
Midfield just not good enough as well get bypassed most of the time, the creativity from the midfield is scary to watch.
The board are embarrassing MON yet again 3/4 of window gone and we have loaned 2 players to add to this woeful squad.

For a very long time the Lanarkshire Mafia have influenced game after game with one objective, and year after year we never complain, Opponent falls down - free kick every time and they all know it.
Usually, we have had the experience, ability and mental strength to overcome and prevail; but this squad lacks so many of these qualities and more. Several of the of fouls we committed yesterday were stupid and unnecessary and between that and surrendering cheap possession all over the pitch, we caused ourselves lots of problems. Defensively, we are so fragile and I don;t need to mention the repeat offenders. The midfield were bullied and bossed - not for the first time this season and up front once again Maeda was abysmal.
Maybe the European game took it's toll as a few English teams also struggled? Maybe not; one thing that is evident is we have a severe lack of game changers on the bench, as has been the case all season.
If the Board don't want to take cash out the bank why not use guys like Maeda, Bernardo, Welsh, Kenny and even Engels or Hatate in deals to bring in the type of player MON craves to improve us?
One thing is certain if we thought the referee and VAR was bad yesterday, just wait until we go to play Sevco or even Aberdeen.

To not have a red card since Yang in the same fixture that long ago tells me we have gotten away with a few, we can't start blaming ref bias for how poor our football is, a game we struggle to control any aspect of, is our own doing, moaning about the state of part time officials is wide of the mark.
We lose the league because the hierarchy have left the club in an absolute mess, and the investment in players has been awful.
Every single player on that park could be upgraded, and would likely get be upgraded in a positive balance, we could sell players for more than what we would have to purchase for, if the club had a reliable functioning recruitment department.
Some on here "build a team around Engels" forget a midfielder cost £11m and he can't pass a ball, he can't header, has no pace, but the demand to spend that type of fee apparently was to guarantee strengthening the team, its been anything but.

On top of what you mentioned he’s got to be one of the thickest players going consistently runs into the back of players and pushes them with 2 hands then complains about the foul
I seen folk blaming McGregor and hatate for engles being poor
Wonder if it’s engles fault because they were used to playing with an actual player in o’Riley.

As you may be aware Turner1984, I was one of the posters on this forum that said that of Engels, some supporters agree, some disagree.
What I would say is that Engels is a young player with the future in front of him who has not been a regular starter in the side.
At the same time, CalMac and Hatate, despite a huge dip in form, week in - week out, have been getting selected this season.
As you say, every player on the park could be upgraded and although I'm not writing this season off, we're in as bad a spot as we've been in recent memory.
In terms of talent, strength and depth, this current team, is one of the worst Celtic sides I've seen in 30 years.
Whilst Hearts and Sevco have improved, at the same time we're going backwards at a faster rate than the progress both of them have made.
This currently scenario sits squarely at the door of Nicholson and his master, DD.
It's unnecessary, self inflicted and unforgivible.

That’s the Celtic way lads. Pick on a young player because he has a bad game. Yet he was easily one of our best players on Thursday. The absolute cheek to call him thick when it seems a few of you just don’t understand football is laughable. Name one player in our team against hearts who passed the ball perfectly yesterday? Yet, you it’s nothing to do with price tag but you single out 1 player, a young player over the likes of Calmac, Nygren etc. Nygren is lucky he scores because his output in every other stat is honking. Engels wasn’t a goal scoring midfielder. He was a creative, box to box player. His stats were commendable last year and he barely had a sniff at the start of this year because Rodger’s was protecting him from the stupidity of some of you who think because he cost X he must as good as KDB. That mindset is baffling. He’s only just turned 22 and I’ve seen enough of the good things he does, that I can only see him getting better with age.
I’ll sum up your mentality. He could do 10 good passes in a match but when he misses 1, you’ll just focus on that. Same with Kasper. Can pull of 5 ridiculous saves to keep us in a game, concede one he might have done better with, you focus on that. Can you see how silly that is? Fans you are not. You’re angry, middle aged babies.

Engels has had plenty time to prove himself in a Celtic jersey, yes he's young and still has time on his side, I haven't written him off, but he isn't getting pass marks for being an international player, who struggles to tackle, create, run, in a league very inferior to the bundesliga.
Oreilly was miles better, there is no denying it, for every 10 passes as in what square pass to mcgregor doing actually nothing with it?
Come on BeardyBhoy there is no way you have watched him and been impressed?
Nygren doesn't get pass marks, he pops up with goals but he's slower, worse in a tackle, doesn't actually challenge his man for a header he jumps and ducks out the way which is embarrassing.
The older players I agree aren't at it either, hetate maeda both have fallen away from where their ceiling value was, and we should of punted them.
I want to see all the bhoys succeed at the club, I hope MON can get a tune out of them, but one things for sure, we upgrade this team we are in the challenge, the other 2 clubs aren't great what so ever, but this is our poorest team for ages.
Why we haven't signed the motherwell lad upfront is beyond me, what form he is in and we should be capitalising exactly like we did when Mcdonald was firing for them.
