Anyone got a feeling we are going to sell Engels this window to fund the new strikers deal? Even though Engels has massive potential and been arguably our best player this season?

I was expecting Engels to step up a few gears but he had a very poor start to this season.
He was non existent under Brendan but granted not the only player.
Zero goals and Zero assists under Brendan in 10 league games.
His performances have improved under MON with a couple of goals from open play, which is an area of his game that he still needs to improve on.
It shows how poor the Celtic players have been this season if Engels is being labelled arguably our best performer.
I’m still hopeful that Engels can continue to improve in a better Celtic team.

Engles is utter gash! I would not care a jot if he is sold this window. I do actually agree with you that our board will see this as an opportunity to not spend money overall.
Again, whenever I have seen him he has been so poor. Can take a penalty but that's it! Shooting is atrocious, as are his corners. and all this cutting ✂️ your socks carry on. Geez peace!

Engles is a class act - if the club sell him - I’ll never be back at Celtic Park - plug holes before drilling new holes in the boat.
He’ll be sold for £30m a some point by a club they can figure out where to play him - I think I want to cry.

Mcgregor is the problem with Engels Mcgregor HAS to play apparently ever game but in reality it should be Arne sat back spraying passes dictating play with a strong tackling midfielder next to him he’s the only player worth any money in this team and only 22 he has a big future he will go for more than Matt Riley if he gets to play his best position and allowed to be the main creator hopefully with the big striker coming in he now has someone to pass forward to who can keep the ball and bring him and others into the game if we are selling it would have to be rubbishate he does nothing and has an attitude problem but we shouldn’t be selling at all this window more penny pinching nonsense.

To say Engels is gash and his corners are gash is just utter nonsense.
I agree he should be in the role CM is currently occupying, the role he was playing great before we bought him and the reason we bought him.
Playing in the right position in a good team he will deliver.
If RB are interested it umis because they are aware of what he can do if played in the right position. They know how capable he could be.
Selling him would be totally stupid and anyone suggesting we rush and to that maybe has an alterior motive.

Engels can play and he's the type of player, IMO, who we should be building a team around.
Without trying to sound melodramatic, regardless of how this season pans out, for me, in order for Celtic FC to progress on the park and to have have any chance of making inroads in Europe - we need a complete clearout of the first team squad.
Whatever way you cut it, the majority in this current side have underperformed massively since about February last year, leading up to the SC Final defeat.
Some of the players are clearly not good enough, some need a change of scenery and some are coming to the end of their careers.
It's highly unlikely to happen as the ego and power weilded by DD is such that the board just seem to nod and wait to carry out the next order as decreed by the majoroty shareholder from Cork.
MN and the rest of them have no say or real decision making authority, that's been proven time and time again, not least at the most recent AGM.
Until that changes, in the boardroom, unfortunately I don't see how any tangible change will take place on the playing side to put in place a platform from which the team can be built, developed and honed to be the best it can be.

Davie, its not even worth getting into a discussion, you are clearly set on your view, even though most on here accept he has never played in his best position and most know there us a good player in there.
Had we players who were decent in the air, we would have scored a lot more at set pieces. His corners are a strikers dream, low and fast, no need to worry about getting power behind your header, the power is already in the kick.
Out of our midfield he has been the better player, but that doesn't say much, as none have been at their very best. m this season.
There are 2 or 3 it would be easier to replace ahead of him.

Build the team around Engels, someone's on the wind up, he is easily replaced, lethargic, weak, poor delivery considering he gets about 10 corners a game, we can do far better, I actually can't believe clubs are interested in him based on what we see week in week out, he has room to improve, but if you compare him to say Matt oreilly there's no comparison, oreilly was about a 10th of the price and we will never get the same fee if we sold engels, mulligan would put engels out the team.

Have to agree with a few in here. Engels is a class player and if he gets a move will likely be able to show off his talent.
As I’ve said Numerous times McGregor has been gash for 2+ years now. He gets a pass and is always seen as some maestro. He’s done nothing to warrant a place in that team for months and is a terrible Celtic captain. Gutless when you need an enforcer. Played way too many games and can’t keep up anymore.
As for Hatate I think he wanted away last season and never got the move. He’s been crap for long enough too.
Maeda, is another had a good 6 months in a Celtic strip just like Kuhn but somehow gets all the pass marks. Yang has been a better player than him this season.
Tierney has been decent for a few weeks now but another that if his name was Greg Taylor would be getting hounded for lack of consistency.
Too many fans blinded by the obvious.

To comment on the amount of corners we get and blame Engels because we don't score more is quite embarrassing. Is it Engels fault we concede from corners or set pieces.
The reality if we don't have players who are good in the air at offencive and defensive set pieces monobexatracks the ball.
Most strikers who are good in the air would love to attack Engels corners. They are put into the danger area with bend and pace, a nightmare to defend.
Enfels has 14 goals and 18 assists, maybe not as many as MOR but he is a different player. Nygren is the player to compare with MOR.
Engels position is occupied currently by our captain and at some point he may replace him in there.
His distribution from that role when he played at Auburg is why we bought him.
CMs distribution is not good, it is side to side and his over the top passing is poor.
Name a player who has been better in our midfield this season. None have had a great season.

People acting like Engels is the problem in the midfield, arguing that MOR is a better player at half the price and mulligan is better clearly don’t understand football.
How many games have you watched mulligan play against a low block and name me games where he’s been a total standout.
MOR played in the some role Nygren plays and his stats are the ones to compare, look at McGregors stats or go as far back as Broony to compare with Engels. His set pieces are fast and whipped into the box, how many sitters do we miss from corners per game, it’s well over 5 a game.
What we should be doing is punting Hatate and Bernardo, get two 8’s in (box to box) and out Engels in the 6 let him dictate from the back. Give Cal Mac a break for once.
Obviously this isn’t the biggest issue cause we need serious recruitment, St, Rw, cb, cdm.
