Is there Scottish footballer anywhere willing capable of being our future captain - anyone, even British Irish, a midfield general capable of controlling games, leading team, swagger with confidence and carry the team, with right players around him calmac isn't far off it, but for discussion sake who's next.

It doesn't have to be a midfield player a lot of our captains have been defenders in the past as well and larsson was our captain lead by example, tbh I don't think anyone
In that team should be captain at the moment none of them playing for the shirt it's embarrassing if anyone it would be aj and Tierney will be in with a shout as well because he "gets" Celtic.

I can't see anyone obvious. We may have to spend more than what our board are willing to spend.
Lewis Ferguson is captain of bologna and a good age but we would have to smash our transfer record.
John Mcginn will likely end up with us in the future and may be short term answer but i'm against him or robertson or anyone else coming in in their twilight years.
Lennon Miller could and should have been groomed to be mcgregors replacement both in position and captain.
Other options of british/ irish we would likely need to look at the championship with our budget. I can't think of anyone quality wise in that league of the top of my head.
But one thing is for sure there is clearly no one in our squad that is captain material, even Mcgregor for me is done and needs replaced asap. that's another overlooked reason for the state of us on the pitch, there is not one leader amongst them. And that's a serious issue needs addressed immedietly.

Lewis Ferguson when we could've got him for £3M.
Maybe Alastair Johnston could be our next Captain if we stay for the next few years.
But Calmac still has 2.5 years left on his contract.

Derry there's no guarantee miller will work in Italy, he's not pushed his way into playing yet which Ferguson did as well as hickey by this point, he's still affordable option if things aren't going well for him.

I am happy with Callum and hope he sees out his career at Celtic. Yes he will need replaced in the coming years and KT would be the obvious choice if he can get fully fit and find the form of old (which is not a given) .

McGregor is a horrendous player now. He shouldn't be here another season and I hope these rumours of a Saudi move are true.
Can't remember the last time I looked at a Celtic squad and found it difficult to name a player I'd keep.
