17 Dec 2025 16:10:11
Hope he took Nancy with him.

Yeah its been confirmed. Statement is full of the great I am and that he was forced out by a bunch of mindless anti establishment good for nothing neds. He has yet again not read the room and takes zero accountability for the sh1t show we are witnessing.
17 Dec 2025 16:13:54
If true 1 down, still lots to go.
17 Dec 2025 16:19:29
Hes citing abuse and threats as reason and not the downsizing and making club a laughing stock.
17 Dec 2025 16:23:21
Hopefully Tisdale Nicolson next.
17 Dec 2025 16:29:44
Hopefully the dominoes begin to tumble….

For many a year Peter Lawwell done a great job as the Celtic Chief Executive.
He basically ran the show in Scottish football and the majority of fans couldn't tell you who the Celtic Chairman was for 10 years during that period.
Peter made the correct decision to step down from his Chief Executive position in 2021 because he was getting too old for the job.
Lawwell was still a non executive Director with Celtic to allow him to continue working with the Uefa FFP committee.
Lawwell then made the mistake of not retiring after 20 years at Celtic.
He knew the majority of the Celtic fans didn't want him as our Chairman because we predicted he would cause havoc within our own club and we were not wrong.
PL most of the time did a great job with Celtic but his legacy has been harmed due to a few breakdowns in his relationship with the Celtic supporters.
Most recently that relationship has forced him to step down as the Celtic Chairman.

Just read the story in the daily record and I must say, the story has come directly from the Celtic PR department. The story even mentioned how his drive way got fire bombed and it was implied this was the Celtic fans, which we all know is a complete fabrication.
Anyway good riddance to him.
17 Dec 2025 16:50:03
1 down 4 to go, Lawell stated he is proud of his achievements over the past 21 years, pointing out the trophies won, not as great an achievement as you like to make out Peter considering the opposition was non existent most of those years. Also proud of playing European group stage football 19 of the 21 years! Wow Pedro how many CL places did you f*** up in your 21 years too many to mention, infact I think we've only qualified through qualifiers for CL once that i can remember maybe twice .
Good riddance.

Doesn't matter who firebombed his car and house, it was a terrible thing to do. Nobody wants that kind of headless ignorant behaviour.
As Buzz said he should have stayed retired last time. He has only tarnished his contribution to Celtic and Scottish football.
17 Dec 2025 16:59:46
He leaves after screwing every bit of cash out the club that he could.
I don't think Nicholson has yet so I expect him to hang on for dear life.
17 Dec 2025 17:14:31
He forgot to mention that for many years he was amongst the highest paid ceo in world football.
17 Dec 2025 17:24:27
Imagine having to resign twice in disgraceful circumstances.
What an eff legacy.
17 Dec 2025 17:34:32
Well said Stevie. ?
@maeda it does matter who fire bombed his house as it has nothing to do with the Celtic fans, as was implied in the article.
I am not for one minute saying it was acceptable but it does matter if it is an article meant to tarnish our fans.
17 Dec 2025 17:09:34
His driveway did get fire bombed, don't think anyone ever been caught for it.
Said he had a turbulent time which culminated in his drive being fire bombed.
Where's the fabrication?
{Ed007's Note - It had absolutely nothing to do with Celtic fans. Most people - especially Celtic - fans know that.}
It's time to root out the cancer of organised crime in Scottish football (from today's Sunday Mail)#ScottishJustice pic.twitter.com/Az0gL8ZPZ2

No one is denying it happened. The issue I have, is it had nothing to do with his resignation, so why was it mentioned in the article (which came straight from the Celtic PR team) ?
The reason it was in the article was to try and build a case against us pesky fans who wanted him out, even though it had nothing to do with us, as ed and me have pointed out. It was a blatant attempt to try and marginalise us and turn other fans against us. If you are dumb enough to fall for it, that is your problem.

WeeJoe I read the article for whst it says. Not what I think it says or means or what I want it to say.
I look at the facts of the article not an under tone. If we're talking about fact, Celtic fans are not mentioned or attacked in the article. He mentions threats and abuse. But let's make the article suit the. I hate the board.
Love him or hate him, I don't care.
