Watched a documentary about football Icons and it was Charlie Nicholas, a re bee him playing 1 of his 1st games in a Celtic jersey at cappielow (friendly) and it was a baldy old man on the wing that caught my eye and it was non other than our very own BB, (the footballer not the old guy on this forum?) Nicholas was a phenomenal player for us 1st time round and 1 season he scored 48goals on £90pw and Mr Whyte refused to give him a pay rise.
The Board eh?♂️.
{Ed007's Note - Charlie Nicholas was my first Celtic hero, a wee 9- year old me broke my heart crying when he left.}

{Ed007's Note - Yep, I was the same, even Judas but as you get older you appreciate and understand football more and see how good McStay, Burns, Boyd etc etc were

I was thinking the same DRB and then I seen you wrote it.
Nicholas broke his leg in a reserve match at Cappielow.

I'm going to stir a hornets nest. Paul McStay? First few seasons brilliant. I thought his play went backwards round about the time he didn't go to Liverpool. Moreover he carried the team in his latter years to the detriment of his game. So he isn't a legend for me.

Nicholas for me was very good at a young age, he was something like 18 or 19 when he started playing in the first team for Celtic, and then Arsenal came along and it was off to the bright lights of old London town.
With the ability he had at such a young age, I thought he'd have went on to do more in his career.
Brian McClair was a favourite of mine as I started going to the games when he was playing alongside the likes of Aiken, Burns, McGrain, McStay etc.
McClair was a great talent and scored goals for fun for Celtic and offcourse ended up at Man. Utd.

McStay rubbish? Are you on strong medication? That guy was Celtic daft and never wanted to leave, he also carried Celtic for years, if only we had a playmaker like him now, one of the greatest ever player's to pull on the Hoops.
