Totally underwhelming that we are getting the boy from M City on loan. We have known for about 18 months we need cover at CH and can't find anyone to replace Rocki, Lager, Welsh and cover CCV when injured. Short term loan is not the answer. Sums up our board and their lack of ambition. Staying ahead of our rivals is not ambition.

I thought the same but I can now see some logic in this if he is cover for Murray and ccv or possibly replacing Murray if he is not developing quick enough.

Caveat that by saying he may well be a star and help us out, but if no option to buy which seems the case then we we are back to Sq1 next summer.

I hope he has a successful loan period similar to Denayer who was also from Man City.

This is the way I'm thinking on it Chinks.

Dane Murray looks like he will be developed this season. However, he has a long history of injury and we don't know how he will perform in competitive matches yet and if he will develop fast enough.

Therefore, it makes sense to bring in a loan as back up and insurance policy if you will. Obviously I am assuming that this is the reason he has been brought in.

If he has been brought in to compete for a first team spot, I agree that it is pointless as there is no option to buy.

If wee have loans every season and helps us win league and qualify for CL al take that every yr mate.

Should be developing out own players not being a development team for richer teams. Terrible signing.

I think BR sees CCV and AT as his starting pair. It’s hard to bring in an upgrade on either of them and tell them they’ll be playing second fiddle to that pairing and need to breakthrough. Even if they do breakthrough I doubt CCV or AT would be happy on the bench. At LCB we have AT, Scales, Yamada and Tierney. At RCB we have CCV and Murray (assuming Welsh leaves) . I’m not saying a loan is the right move, but I’d like to think that this signals BR sees this a big season for Murray.

I’ve always thought that from a financial perspective we should see each position as a number. So let’s say a few years ago each position was £1m. If you sell your £1m CF for £5m then you can reinvest some of that money into a £2-3m CF who you then sell for £8-10m and so on. So with the money for Kunh we should see an £8-10m player coming in at RW this season. This way you continuously improve each position.

If the financial plan did work this way then the money we are losing on Lager and Rocki would be a big factor on why we’re not bringing someone in at RCB until we sell CCV.

Just a thought.

Murray should be that option and not a player from someone else's academy, I think its a shambles on our own players already at the club, and winger on loan I could potentially understand as we are lacking options if injuries occur, but not CB.
