The way maeda is playing at the minute he's definitely a better striker than kyogo, player of the season surely.

I’m sure Maeda will score on Sunday if he starts through the middle.
I’ve also got a feeling McCowan will score possibly off the bench.

Was thinking Maeda reminded me a little of Arjen Robben today . . . at least the winger that showed up against us a few years back. Total machine. Could see him playing something like that role in a top team eventually.

If idah was better at closing down I don't think maeda would be played through the middle.
I think maeda is a better player than idah and light years ahead at closing down but I think idah is a better striker and finisher than maeda.

I have kept loads of Celtic match highlights on Sportscene over the past few years and the progress Maeda has made in technique and confidence is amazing. His phenomenal work-rate has always been there, but has added much more to his game and IMO is irreplaceable.

Player of the season, yes, but a better striker than Kyogo, no.

When Daizen's days are done as a top Bhoy we will surely reminisce about his speed, tireless effort, his chasing apparent lost causes and converting them, covering back, relentless will to win, uncomplaining and unselfish demeanour, and the magnificent entertainment he has given us fans.
Also, when cup final and Treble day comes in May, I really feel that Daizen and Jota will be red hot and set Hampden alight.

Weejoe, There are times when Idah goes through good spells at getting into correct position and finishing well, however I feel he also has spells when, he seems disinterested or something and doesn’t look like scoring, if BR had Idah more consistent he would definitely be pushing Maeda as best striker& best finisher.

That may also be a factor des, as is idah's need to get better at closing down. The striker pressing is very important to how Rodgers wants us to play.

I really do not want to bang my own drum here but it was always obvious to me that Maeda had top class attributes, he used to put in awful crosses and miss sitters but he always had a world class attitude and running power, very rare across football. His mentality meant he was always going to improve on his game and he’s not even at his peak yet.

Daizen's that fast he can head in his own crosses.

I think that whenever our two Japanese players leave and hopefully it’s not for a long time. We will really miss both of them . Both can miss hit crosses and shots but both never stop trying and especially Maeda and his pressurising everyone and especially the goalie when on the ball, they must give their team mates a great lift . We miss this endless running and the odd unbelievable top quality passing . I would just love if we could sign a couple of younger Japanese players with the same temperament and skill as Hatata and Maeda.
