Buzz here is one for your stats
A couple of years ago I got into conversation with a professional gambler in a Ladbrokes in Glasgow city centre. He caught my attention because of the amount he put on, and he patiently waited on a certain race or horse before piling in.
Among other snippets of advice he told me this
"Have you noticed how many winning horses have double barrelled names like Timmy Tuesday, April Affair"
He said the percentage was so high, he started betting on just those horses and he said he was in profit almost from day one.
So guys, daft as it sounds have a look for any horse with the same initial letter and pile on.

I think that is only true for the Grand National Tim as I could not find data that covered all races. In the Grand National
single = 43%
double = 52%
triple = 5%
My view on gambling is you would be better avoiding it. However, if you do bet and you do not understand how statistics work, there is a high probability (almost certain) that you will lose your money if you do it for a prolonged period. Yes there may be good spells in that period but overall you will lose.
If you are addicted to gambling you have a 100% chance of losing as you will keep betting until everything you have is gone. I have seen it devastate some of my friends' lives and they lost everything they had including their homes, their wife and their kids.
