Is it just me or do the fans want different things from the players and manager at our club. I feel I would rather we won trophys than keep going all season unbeaten. This team may well go down in the history books for going undefeated all season, I would rather we win cups and be the dominant force in scottish football.

1.) I'd take a treble, or double, or even just the league with a decent run in Europe over some unbeaten record in a one horse race. If we got to the knockout stage of the EL or CL then you could accept not winning the domestic cups, but being out of Europe (n one of the cups) by Christmas then there was no excuse to lose to Aberdeen last weekend. Especially with Lennon opting for the trip to Turkey over a league game so the players would be fresh for the league/cup run in to May!

2.) I can't see us going unbeaten to be honest. We will no doubt slip up somewhere along the line. That'll leave us with very little to shout about this season. Europe was a shameful series of games, we're out of 2 cups and we'll win the league without any fuss. People will say that we can only beat the opposition in front of us but when we can't even do that at times it demonstrates an overall weakness in our set up. Don't get me wrong, like the rest of you I'll continue to give all the support I can and I'll never be tempted to walk away but we're all allowed a grumble from time to time. We're not living up to our "big club" name tag when it matters.

Hail Hail

This could turn out to be the longest pre-season ever. I fear that because this run we are on we will stick to the same players and same system with 1 up. I think we need to mix it up give fringe players more game time and start playing with 2 or more upfront.

4.) For me personally, it's not a worthy unbeaten streak if you don't go for it in matches and beat teams convincingly, not this "we scored on the 8th minute park the bus" mentality, that's what cost us against the dons, we''ve played that way for so long the players don't even know what to do when the going gets tough. The team are shackled, look at the 7-0 hearts game, shackles off and we tore them to shreds

5.) The season has been a real damp squib from as far back as selling our top players in the summer and almost failing to qualify for the CL to the Aberdeen defeat last weekend.
To go from CL last 16 and a double to this seasons failings is hard to take.
Without a serious rival and with the resources and cash compared to the rest of Scotland we have got to be winning trophies - or at least getting to finals and arguing about it later.

The manager had no choice but to make this unbeaten run a priority - as we have nothing else to play for; but the players will let him down at some stage as they have done before and it will be partly his own fault with either poor team selection, tactics or substitutions as has gone before.

Always been a NL fan but yesterday was the last straw for me. He once said sammy is the type of guy to get you the sack. Why play him when you get 1 game in 10 out the guy?
As soon as I heard he was playing my heart sank he was never one to put in a shift on a cold wet windy day. Taking off our top goalscorer (even though he was rank) when we needed a goal was nuts. The double should be the least we should be winning every season. His cup record is a joke. Two cup finals at paradise and we are nowhere to be seen.

What does eveyone think of the big Efe - fulham rumour?
I am delighted that the big man is staying as I rate him highly. He got found out in cl a few times and will learn from this. He has good composure and can bring the ball out from the back. He has played his part in us not conceding goals and formed a great partnership with vvd. Has his bombscare moments granted but a top player none the less!

larsson 7

1.) Like the vast majority of African players he does over play sometimes but is a good player.I think we are much better this season at bringing the ball out in a measured style, largely through VVD it has to be said. I for one am glad he never went and would hope he stays for a few more years, which seems possible as he does seem to be happy here.

2.) He can play and is a bit over-confident at times and has been caught out and I wish he would learn from his mistakes.
Nonetheless he is improving with VVD beside him to guide him and Lennon giving him 'advice' from the sidelines.

JJ

3.) Have to agree with the comments above, he has greatly improved this season, possibly due to having a regular partner alongside him and playing in the one position. I would like to see him move the ball on a bit quicker though!

4.) Efe is a good player in Scotland let's not get kidded with our recent defensive run, Europe we got found out and I see no reason to think clean sheets against spl teams will improve that scenario.we need a new left back who is a primarily a defender and a solid central defender beside vvd for us to improve in Europe.

No a big fan of james forrest but I thought the bhoy was superb today. Running at defenders all day beating them with ease and putting great balls into the box that were begging to be attacked. The break to turkey looks to have been a good decision as the team played with a zest and flair today. Best home league performance this season. Also thought stokes should have been a yellow card instead of red.

1.) Maybe the thought of snodgrass coming has made him up his game or maybe he's over his bout of sciatica, if he adds consistency to his game he could become a great player for us. I rate snodgrass but if were going to pay big cash for a player i'd love it to be rhode . bhoywonder

2.) 18 Jan 2014 23:06:56
Think you are right about this snodgrass talk giving forrest a kick up the arse! Today, s perfomance by him was long overdue. don't think we need snodgrass as we have a few options in midfield but there is always room for a match winner like him. I would prefer to spend big money to sign a proven striker like rhodes. With the newco ready for there first administration I can't see our board spending big. If we got a quality striker this month it would be ideal with cl qualifyers starting in july.

3.) 18 Jan 2014 23:09:51
Bhoy wonder ad pay big money to see you rhode lol

4.) Aww thanks MB lol. I have a dvd . bhoywonder in bangkok. £19.99. it only last 5 mins tho. bhoywonder

5.) To Monk&Ladybhoywonder, why don't yous get together and have wee wondermonkey's running about. Monk, how big would the money be you speak about?(watching), ., .kbarry

Alright troops first time poster. Does anyone think the board will be daft enough to put the st up the £100 they took off this season. With falling attendances the team playing poor and a stadium with no atmosphere along with poor signings. I think it would be madness to put it up next season. They should wait until sevco come back up first.

{Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site mate.}

1.) Cant see any increase in prices for next season unless there is major investment.

2.) 02 Jan 2014 21:57:38
i look forward to the away games a bit more now to be honest. get to as many as I can home and away but the atmosphere at away games is far superior to home ones. if the board put the prices up there will be nobody coming through the gates at cp

could we not reduce ticket sales or give tickets to schools? surely this would increase atmosphere and possibly push the team on a bit. we look like every game is a friendly

3.) Cheers ed

4.) Op the attendance for the thistle game was over 52.000 according to the club. I wasn't at the game can anyone who was tell me if this was true if so its an outstanding attendance for this time of year, if not why would the club lie abot this.
Big J

5.) 02 Jan 2014 23:39:35
There were 52 000 tickets sold for game including season tickets, if the stay away fans dnt go it's not the clubs fault.
Between 20000 -30000 for me

6.) 03 Jan 2014 10:48:46
Thought the attendance was around 28,000 for the partick game, a work colleague who is a thistle fan had to buy a tct for the celtic end as partick only got 800 tcts. Surely the club must offer the away teams who sell there allocation more tickets?

As much as I hate to agree with that reptile I do. With no real so called competition we should be doing the double minimum every season. Nl has already said his cup record is not good enough. The main priority is the league and cl qualification every season, but as a club we seem to be easy beats in cup competitions and for me it,s not good enough.

Thought barry robson ran the show yesterday and the dons deserved there win. It makes me sick at the lack of heart/spirit in this celtic team whenever we play in domestic cup games. The buck stops with the manager and at the end of the day we should be winning more trophys than we are at present.

Agree with most points but disagree strongly with wanting a new manager. NL has never been a yes man to anyone in my eyes.
Who would you bring in to replace him and what budget would you give them.
Which youngsters would you give a fair crack of the whip to and who would you drop.
Griffiths was not the signing we were all looking for but give the bhoy a chance ffs.
Where are all these true fans just now?
Is it 1994 sack the board sack the manager

We have a good system in place with the home ticket scheme. Take your tickets for every home game and semi - final and you would be more or less guaranteed one for the final if we got/get there. The hardcore of around 4-5 thousand who go everywhere should be first in line in my opinion.
