Poor first half, better tempo and not so predictable second half. Missed too many tackles in the middle of the park again. Desperately need a striker as we all know, ciftci from Dundee utd would do me, direct and powerful, holds it up well and brings others into play, could cause us problems on Saturday. That obviously wasn't good enough for RD though which is good. Sly just get worse though. Tanner referred to " celtics champions league appeal " wtf! To be fair he had just watched McCann nearly pop a blood vessel over our penalty, the st Johnston player that got sent off was calmer about it than him. They have reported the whole legia saga with an anti Celtic slant even greater than normal. For me they have been at the heart of the blame Celtic agenda the whole media seems to be running with. Then again they are very good at perpetuating myths.

Have been reading the posts on here and on the other side. very interesting day! didn't watch their game so not heard what was sung but can imagine. The reaction of many of their fans says it all really, many blaming greens pandering to the hardcore with $$$ signs in his eyes. Why would he care about what he is creating if he plans to walk away loaded and carefree. The reaction of the media and governing bodies and the police over the next few days is sure to be interesting. before most of that happens we need another blemish free day at CP tomorrow so they have no excuse to drag us into this. And most bizarrely of all Scotland and Ireland WILL play rugby in an atmosphere of perfect harmony! andybhoy

The Cardiff thing was a sly rumour as far as I'm aware. Remember it's their really silly season. They, along with certain media peepul closer to home will be up to all sorts. I wonder how many Cardiff fans had a wee sly bet on them signing finbo? For the next 6 days trust no f-----! Except Pl and Ed .

Ed. the 43 against last season is the most significant I would think. He looks very pacy direct and can deliver a cross from what I've seen which is admittedly limited. Can't think of many better places to go for players than Ajax though. Andybhoy

We may also be looking at players who won't commit unless/until CL group stages are guaranteed!

Hi ed, not been on for a bit but as its silly season! Sly sports ticker briefly breaks news that hull bid 4m + for hooper. Then it vanishes, no mention on spl news section or on website. Went on oddschecker, only two bookies listed as betting on hoopers club after this window. Vc bet are 2/1 hull while slybet already in to even money. Nuff said methinks. andybhoy

Whether it's diarra or someone else I think we are looking at filling the weakest position in the side.we need someone to play beside brown who can do it properly. RD must feel kayal and mulgrew aren't the answer and doubt many would disagree.

@mrs E , I agree with most things you post. I don't disagree with anything in your post. My point was when the tempo is kept high we are decent to watch. Something we haven't been for much of the last two seasons. We have a very long way to go but for me there are signs of progress and the last few results show that. That we have declined isn't in doubt. We always need better players but seem powerless to keep the ones we do get. Not being in the CL is without doubt damaging but we didn't turn up for the qualifiers.

Junglejim/ed , although it's been slow in coming there is progress there if people choose to see it. I'll take 3 league points after a euro tie in whatever form they come. Look at the list of teams who didn't win this weekend after playing midweek. When the team plays at the tempo RD wants them to its effective and decent to watch. It's hard to keep up for 90 mins and twice in 3 1/2 days is even harder. I've sat next to the same guy in the north stand since it was built. Yesterday he revealed he had made is mind up about RD after the legia away game? I reminded him he also made his mind up about WGS after artmedia game. Now that RD has seen the benefit of playing two strikers , especially at home, I think the improvement will continue . I also think the next two transfer windows will be busy. The product I watched yesterday was better in many ways than some of the garbage I saw us play under NL.

@mrs E , I thought it showed when the players do what Rd asks them to do his plan works. The first half was poor although Astra sat in and made it very difficult. Our tempo wasn't high enough and most of what they created was down to poor mistakes by us, Virgil and mulgrew particularly. Second half tempo was much higher and we could have been a couple ahead by the time we scored. Think scepovic did ok and his goal will do him the world of good. Great to see crosses going in with someone there to attack them. He should have scored 2 and could have had a hatrick and on another day he will, but he was in there on the end of things which has been sadly lacking lately. It was certainly a struggle but when we upped the pace we were decent to watch and able to hurt them. 3points playing not particularly well is a good sign for me. A good side would have taken goals off us though.
