The more i have been thinking about it, the more i can see the talk of Evan Ferguson coming in on loan becoming reality.
Several reasons why it makes sense for Celtic, Brighton and the player himself.
It makes sense for Celtic as it will save the club millions on having to buy another striker while still bringing in a big name on loan. This is the type of move our board will be creaming themselves over.
It makes sense for Brighton as he has a serious confidence crisis and needs game time at a lower level to regain fitness and confidence. We are likely one of Brightons preferred destinations for him.
And finally it makes sense for Ferguson himself as he would see us as somewhere he could easily score goals and get his career back on track. Also a chance to win trophies and play european football.
I do think if he had a good pre season he would coast it in Scotland. Although he looks lost, there is a serious talent in there. A mixture of fitness and injury issues and shocking bad management from brighton has cost him 2 years of his career.
Even though i can see this move happening, i am in no way for it though, as there would be no way we could afford to buy him if his loan was a success. But keep an eye on this, i wouldn't rule it out!

I remember him scoring a brilliant Hat-Trick in the EPL a couple of seasons ago and thinking he was going to be the next big thing.

{Ed007's Note - We had Evan Ferguson over for trials when he was younger and I remember when he signed for Brighton a few Irish lads saying that was on odd move for him. There was talk of him going for £100m a couple of years ago so there's absolutely no chance of us buying him outright and for me he hasn't got that star/special quality I'd be looking at for any loan striker.
Why should Celtic be used as rehab for a player who has lost his way/confidence, so he comes up here, finds his mojo again and goes back down south and suddenly worth £80m-100m again and we're back to square one looking for a striker.}

The only way we should consider this would be if there was an option to buy, at a price we could afford to pay.

I don’t see the point in developing some on else’s asset when we have our own players who will develop with game time like Idah.

Already said I don't want him and nothing has changed. Would be raging if we wasted money on a loan for him.

It is small-tine thinking by the management and that won't get us the progression we need.

I don’t want him either, he thinks he is better than he is . His father is Barry Ferguson, ok he isn’t the Barry we all loved or hated, his father played in the league of Ireland for a long time .
Seriously Evan made it clear that although he liked Celtic he didn’t want to play in SPL.

To me, it would make sense, to get him on a year's loan, if he finds his form, we would have solved our striker problem, for a season at least, as long as our contribution to his wages is workable.
