I understand people's thoughts on a "lucky escape" based on the LASK draw and our current squad, however getting to a knockout with Bayern still had to suffer a 7-1 spanking in the league phase, this is always a possibility no matter the squad we have, because you have different levels in CL, what you would hope is the squad you have are up for that task and want to impress at a top level playing against top sides, failing to qualify isn't a blessing its absolute poor planning from the board and negligence on field and sideline decisions.
We really need this board to pull their finger out and recruit some 1st team players and bit of extra squad depth in key positions, there is no excuse, we have the funds, not every player has to cost £10m.
This is such a defining week of activity, some players are definitely surplus, some will definitely stay especially having to keep home grown criteria, but checked out Hetate, no performance Balikwisha, players like that need to go asap, get the replacements in, LB, GK and a strong CB.
If that midfield isn't bolstered with strength and power then the board will be in for it till January, there's just no getting away from it.

I agree to an extent, but it IS a blessing as where we are now. whoever is at fault is that we are a Europa League team, pure and simple. We play in Scotland. Look at the teams we are in with now. Jive? RB? Etc. I am NOT FOR ONE MINUTE SAYING THE BOARD ARE NOT TO BLAME.
OF COURSE THEY ARE! But SO are the players for capitulating so meekly! We are where we are and better get used to it. Btw, all this rubbish about the finances being effected. we are guaranteed circa £15m from EL. We haven't spent a real penny yet!
