Edd, is there any reason why VAR officials can't be based say England, watching the action from there. least there would be less chance of them being offiliated to any lodge.
{Ed007's Note - VAR standards should be set by - and ran by - FIFA/UEFA imo, why can't a team from Poland do the Scottish VAR one weekend and then say a Greek team the next week? Scottish refs would need to shape up or be left behind like they are at international level.}

{Ed007's Note - It's guys sitting at computer/video screens, as long as there's no language barriers I don't see why it can't be controlled by those running the game at the top level. We could have the on pitch refs & his assistants but what if VAR was a different "department" altogether, made up of top ex-refs who are teaching younger guys the rules and while doing a specialised FIFA/UEFA course on VAR technology? Thow in language courses if needs be!

Needs a major shake up Ed, the current system is absolutely woeful. After watching the highlights earlier, the Newall handball decision and the push on Nygren cannot be put down to incompetence. It's blatant cheating in my eyes!
{Ed007's Note - And Collum will come out and say the goal shouldn't have stood and we should have had a penalty but what's the point of that, nothing will change.

I definitely agree Ed, someone with no ties to the league or clubs should be doing VAR, not refs linked to one club.
Our refs are an embarrassment to their colleagues elsewhere. Yesterday is a prime example.
Everyone who watched the replays saw the double touch handball and the shove against Nygren, apart from the guys who can play it back as often as they want and in slow motion, but they could not see definitive contact.
What a load of nonsense.
The fact that no Scottish refs are getting to the world cup or have been in any big European matches speaks for itself.
Look at Tory boy yesterday, he couldn't get his flag up quick enough to try and cancel out Maedas goal. This was one occasion I am glad we have VAR.
He should never be on the line in our matches after his red card, red card demand for a faking buffalo.
