On this date in 1985 Celtic had a 1-1 Draw with Rangers which was labelled the “Janefield Riot” match and it was my first “Old Firm” game.
That result Officially confirmed Aberdeen as Champions and the last club to triumph outside of Glasgow in the last 41 Years.
A few days previously Celtic had a 1-1 away Draw at Aberdeen with an iconic Willie Miller celebration equaliser.
The Aberdeen players and supporters celebrated a title win after the Draw but Celtic could still officially catch them on goal difference.
That’s why 41 years ago today is Officially the last time a club outside of Celtic and Ibrox that have been confirmed as Champions.

I was caught in that charge and had my pals big soster with me. There was no trouble, it was packed, and when they charged; it was bedlam. The wall collapsed and I managed to grab my female pal and get over the collapsed wall.
We stood i'm a Close intil it thinned out after the second charge. Utterly disgraceful, and would never would have happened, if it been their teams supporters.
