If ED007 will permit me A WEE HEADS UP

This summer, as I am a lot stronger health wise, Mrs T and the Ghirls and I planning a week away in Spain, Portugal etc
but I have been seeing the chaos caused by Britain not being an EEC country (Brexit still causing problems)
To try and explain it is hard but British passport holders must register and get their fingerprints and face scanned biometrically when entering a SCHENGEN (EEC country)
Typically every airport has it's own way of doing this so CHAOS and people missing flights 120 over the weekend

Now if you are LUCKY to be IRISH your passport has a "Magic key" allowing you direct entry to EEC countries with none of the hassle above, here is where it gets interesting for MYSELF as Mrs T born and bread in Galway has an Irish passport, the Ghirls because of Mrs T have dual Irish/ British nationality so they too have or can obtain an Irish passport. So that only leaves MUGGINS here 100% Glaswegian and I have the blasted British passport.
Mrs T and Ghirls say they will LEAVE me behind and enjoy the sunshine break Groan

Ach if only a long lost poster would turn up and help me with my passport problems WEE PAT FAE POSSIL.

Agree1 Disagree0

Mrs t and the girls will need a British passport to enter the UK even if they leave on their Irish passport. This was a change in the law brought in on February this year.

With regards to you, you can use your British passport and I'm guessing the teething problems will have been ironed out by the time you travel. My wife and daughter have just been to Europe and said there were no delays for them, caused by this new system.

On a personal note I won't be travelling to Europe ever again, just like I won't be travelling to America, as I won't be giving them my biometric data. Gives me a great excuse for not going on holiday. ?.

You are right aindoh it does not apply to Irish citizens and you can use an Irish passport to enter. You either need a British or Irish passport or A Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode when entering UK.

I only knew about this asy mate was coming over from Australia with his kids and they had to cancel the trip as they would not get the kids British passports in time to travel.
