Edd, whos your best signing that uou can ever remember evn in the 30/ 40s, ano most probably say KoK am going gor Brian McClair or Paul Lambert closely followed bu Lenny.
{Ed007's Note - Cheeky bassa! ? Brian McClair helped fill a Charlie Nicholas shaped hole in my wee 9-year old heart. I was actually really excited that we signed Alan Stubbs and I went on some adventure to make sure I seen him make his debut up at Pittodrie only for him to get sent off!
There's too many to choose from as a particular "best signing" and the obvious choice is always Larsson but at the time there really wasn't much of a fanfare or excitement about him signing, Lambert, Mick McCarthy, Chris Sutton, Burley, Paul Elliott, Di Canio, Sinclair etc etc all had a better pedigree/reputation than Larsson when we signed him.}

Lubo was special.

Of all the signings we had over the years, I would also go with Lubo. He was unheard of really and seemed like just another of the countless number of signings we made.
It didn't take long to realise we had unearthed an absolute gem of a player!
His trap he made against the diets when he controlled the ball with his arse will live with me forever! Still to this day Lubo remains one of my favourite players to ever wear the hoops!
{Ed007's Note - I was young at the time as well but surely guys like Davie Provan, Frank McGarvey must come into the mix?}

Cadete when he first arrived was an exciting talent.
{Ed007's Note - Viduka?}

Nakamura was a great signing too @Mallythetally 2, two players in their later years.

I was more excited about a few Managerial appointments.
Billy McNeill coming back for our Centenary Year.
Martin O’Neill and then Brendan Rodgers.

Soz, didn't realise Nakamura was only 27 when he signed for us.

Jackie Dziekanowski was also a great player for us.
{Ed007's Note - Dariusz Wdowczyk was better.}

Jackinowski had a handful of great games but wasn't a great player for us. half decent at best. mostly uninterested and lazy. rather than football achievements he became better known as a boozing party animal. not a bad thing for normal people but not a pro footballer.

Murdo McLeod was a fantastic signing from Dumbarton, fantastic all round midfielder, he could score goals, win tackles, defend and attack, if only we had him in this weak midfield we have now, he's still never been replaced with someone of that ilk since in my opinion.

Was it not him thst scored 4 goals against Partizan Belgrade and we still got knocked out?

Aye Greentreee.
Former Dundee United Manager Ivan Golac was Partizan’s Boss and a very young Petric went on to play for Rangers.
