I think Steve Clarke makes the most sense as next manager purely based on how the club is currently structured.
Celtic have consistently worked best when the manager is the dominant voice in recruitment — think Martin O'Neill and Ange Postecoglou. Strong identity, clear authority, and signings aligned directly to the manager’s system.
Clarke fits that model. He’s not a “head coach” type — he’s someone who sets the structure, demands organisation, and builds the team in his image.
David Moyes is a similar profile — another manager who wants control and builds the football operation around himself — but he’s obviously very unlikely to leave Everton.
Someone like Kjetil Knutsen would be exciting, but he relies on a completely different setup — modern, integrated recruitment, long-term planning, and club-wide alignment. We just aren’t built like that at the moment. Keane divides the fanbase even more, Bellamy wouldn't be a yes man (though an exciting choice) , Motherwell manager needs more time to prove he can deliver consistently.

A lot of fans will push back on Clarke because of style — “too defensive”, “not the Celtic way”. But I think the real question is: what do we actually need right now?
European credibility again (however that looks)
Domestic control
Better recruitment with a knowledgeable manager leading on it
A clear, consistent direction
When you frame it like that, it’s less about attractive free flowing football (although we of course want that) and more about outcomes.
Clarke gives you:
Organisation and structure (badly needed in Europe)
A clear system
Authority over recruitment
Consistency domestically
He might not be as expansive as Ange Postecoglou, but neither was Martin O'Neill — and he still delivered success and European impact.
So it really comes down to this:
Clarke = fits the current structure
Knutsen type = requires a full structural overhaul
If the club isn’t planning a major shift in how recruitment works, then Clarke is the logical appointment. If it's revolution time, then other options open.
Faithful through and through. HH.

Clarke and Moyes are definitely very similar.
But they’ve always had clubs who were not always on the front foot.
Moyes for example struggled with Man United and I don’t think Clarke has any experience challenging at the top.
More like good survival and grinding out results managers.

I’ve always thought Clarke was a Celtic fan and Moyes was a bluenose as a youngster before joining Celtic.

It's a no to both from me.

They sound like the football their teams play, boring, predictible and negative.

We get Clarke as manager and the Samaritans will need to go on a recruitment drive ?.

Jeezo, Clarke and Moyes tactics would get football stopped.
