Steve Clarke is getting tipped in some places to be come Celtic next manager. I hope not, I hope it's no internal manager that is at the world cup, reason is we have far too much building to do in so little time to have someone take the job half way through July.
No time to assess the little squad we will have or bring his ideas across before European game's starting. Just my opinion.

I believe he would win us trophies and make us difficult to beat in Europe again but his style is painful. Its a no for me.

He is totally wrong for us. He is very defensive and takes no risks.
We need a Manager who plays offensive football, where the team defend from the strikers back, close down teams quickly and break quickly.
No more crab football, it makes me dizzy watching the ball go side to side.
Move it forward quickly and put the opposite on the back foot.
Forget playing out from the back, unless we bring in players who can do that.

It was the same when Clarke was a player because he was constantly being linked with a move to Celtic from St. Mirren and Chelsea.
Yet it never happened and it will be the same throughout his Managerial career.

Before we slag off Clarke, casting our minds over the post MON 1 decades, other than a season and a bit for BR. Same with Ange, the footballs been crap. The anti Clarke sentiment belies a deeper malaise.

Looks like I chucked it just in time. ?.

For me it's not anti Clarke it's anti manager that is involved in the world cup. They would have very little time to get a squad together as I think we will have to bring in north of 7 new players such as the depravation of the squad. Players on loan will be going back to their own clubs, players that want to leave will have to be replaced, and players that aren't clearly good enough will have to be moved on and or replacing.
No use bringing in someone in the middle of July that would be too late to get this mess sorted. The new manager will want to bring in his own players ( he will be too busy thinking about the world cup, than thinking of domestic matters) So we have to get someone in for the end of the season not the middle of the break.

Could it be Maloney takes interim control at end of season, Liaising with Martinez on transfer ins and outs, prior to the latter being named post WC.
