What do you all think if Jens Berthal Askou* please forgive the spelling (Motherwell manager) was to become our next manager IF we could possibly get him. I know I said in the past to give Pussy time and I was so wrong about that.
But given what Jens has achieved this year in our league I think he would be a great shout. If we could get him. Not saying he would want to come.

Falkirk are having a good season and are still in the Scottish Cup. Does that qualify John McGlynn as a new Celtic manager? What if St Mirren win the Scottish Cup; does their manager then come into contention? Askou might well do the job, but it's a big, big risk, imo.

I reckon he would jump at the chance.
To only lose 3 matches from 28 league games is a great achievement, especially with 2 defeats coming at Celtic Park and Ibrox.
Being denied an injury time penalty at Ibrox, losing an injury time winner at Celtic Park, and losing by only one goal against Falkirk shows Motherwell have been competitive in every match.
It will be interesting to see how Motherwell do with all of their last 9 games being against Top 6 clubs.

Any new manager would be a big risk. I would say he would have a little less risk than anyone from outside of the league. Falkirk have had a good few sessions, but I think that's John's limit as far as his team goes.
Just my opinion. Backing by the board will make or break the next manager we get. We have to get the new manager in quickly. I would say the end of this season is a must, not the middle of July or August, but the end of this season.

Tony,
I've posted about the possibility of the big fella from Motherwell potentially being our next manager a few times in recent weeks.
A risk/gamble - yes, but as you say, who wouldn't be (that Celtic could attract) ?
For me, he ticks a few boxes:-
* Motherwell's performances this season (as Buzzbomb has pointed out) .
* He has the best defensive record in the league to date.
* The brand of football he has Motherwell playing.
* He's only 43 yrs of age.
* He's already got coaching experience in Scandinavia, so although young - he's no rookie.
I'm not sure what potential candidates this excuse for a board may look at, but this guy is 20 mins up the road from Celtic Park, and, should we get our act together, he could be at the club for a good few years and be around long enough to help put in place a footballing operation.
I'd take the punt.

R McCormack is saying he is willing to bet he will snub us for the EPL. ?♂️ He said, before appointment, Nancy would be no good. With Askou, the fact we are out of both cups early leaves me 50/50. ?♂️
